Did the ‘RHOC’ Ladies Gang Up On Shannon Beador? Or Did She Need a Wake Up Call?
The Real Housewives of Orange County heated up–and it wasn’t just the weather on the girls’ trip to Jamaica that was on fire. Tensions have been bubbling beneath the surface between Shannon Beador and well…all the ladies in the OC.
Cast member Kelly Dodd breaks it down in her blog about why the ladies have had enough of Beador’s drama. “If you remember Vicki’s birthday lunch at the golf course, you’ll recall that Shannon stormed off and removed her mic pack once before. It breaks my heart to see her so sad, and to know she is feeling cornered and attacked.”
“But then on the other hand, I don’t see what the big deal is, so she can come off like a spoiled brat, who runs off whenever she doesn’t get her way,” Dodd continues. “I’ll always be there for Shannon, and I’ll do what I can to defuse the situation whenever possible, but the tantrums are beyond exhausting. Without breaking the fourth wall too much, I also think the producers deserve a little more respect.”
Hideous heat, alcohol and a lack of A/C may have pushed the epic confrontation that went down at the dinner from hell. Were the ladies just being bullies or did Beador need a wakeup call?
Gina Kirschenheiter gets real (and stirs the pot)
New cast members Emily Simpson and Kirschenheiter confide in Judge that Beador doesn’t make an effort with the new ladies. In fact, during the “big dinner,” the minute the conversation shifts to Kirschenheiter, Beador looks bored, even making snide comments under her breath.
The women notice and ask for “fun Shannon.” However, Beador becomes defensive and hurls a litany of excuses why she may not be engaged. Kirschenheiter tries to connect, but Beador isn’t interested and says she’s too busy to make time for Kirschenheiter. Simpson hops on that and tells Kirschenheiter that Beador has “no time for her.” And the conversation goes downhill from there.
But does she have time for someone who she considers to be her best friend? Kirschenheiter lowers the boom about Beador’s friendship with Judge. “Yeah, but you don’t even check in on her when her husband has heart surgery so…what kind of friend are you?”
This may be where Beador goes wrong
That query (along with the notion of wanting to see “fun Shannon”) sends Beador down the rabbit hole as she verbally picks off each lady one by one. She recounts over and over her hardships and struggles, which is possibly why the women may be at odds with the 54-year-old mother of three.
Beador flees the dinner table and runs to the bathroom, upset and angry. Judge confronts Beador reminding her that everyone has problems and she isn’t the only one. Beador doesn’t see it that way and gets defensive that she is being portrayed as someone who is selfish.
Tamra Judge blows up
The writing was on the wall long before the trip. Judge dealt with some serious issues, including her husband’s ongoing heart surgeries, a broken foot, and her dog battled cancer. However, Judge says Beador only wanted to complain about her divorce and hardly asks about anyone other than what was going on with her.
Judge flew under the radar for months about confronting Beador about this because, ” It’s really hard for me to tell Shannon when she’s acting out, because all she does is get mad and ices me out. So I just don’t say anything most of the time,” she blogged.
Did she get the message?
The women try to tell Beador she can’t keep treating people badly because she is getting divorced. But Beador feels blindsided and upset. She retreats and disappears the next day.
She says in her blog, “This is a very difficult episode for me to watch. First, to re-live the pain I was going through at the time in a fairly new separation, but also to hear what my friends were saying behind my back.
I have so many things to say, but at this time I don’t want to dive into it. We are filming our reunion this week, and I intend to address it there. It can only get better from here. Until next week…”
Did she get the message or just think the women are being mean girls? Stay tuned.
