Did This Help Prince William Fall in Love With Kate Middleton?

Prince William and Kate Middleton seem like they have the perfect love story. Meeting when they were young college students, their relationship certainly did not come without setbacks, including two public breakups, yet they always managed to find a way back to each other.

Royal fans were over the moon with excitement when the couple finally announced their engagement after a number of years, since everyone knew that the two of them were clearly destined to be together.

Looking at the relationship from Kate‘s point of view, and most people would agree that it is hard not to fall in love with a prince — especially one who is as charming and handsome as Prince William. We know that William realized that he was smitten with his future wife when he watched her walk in a charity fashion show at the University of Saint Andrews.

What we don’t often hear about is how William realized that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Kate. So, what was it that may have helped Prince William fall in love with Kate Middleton?

William grew up in the public eye

Being a royal is not easy, as many members of the family will agree with. The royal family members are constantly being followed by photographers and as the future king, William experiences this significantly more than some of his relatives who are further down in the line of succession.

Since the day he was born, William’s life has practically been an open book, with everything from his first day of school to various girlfriends that he had being the subject of headline news.

Kate, on the other hand, grew up living a typical family life in the Village of Bucklebury in Berkshire, England.

Prince William lost his mother when he was very young

One of the most heartbreaking events that occurred in William’s life was the death of his mother, Princess Diana. He was only 15 years old at the time, and there is no doubt that it greatly affected him in ways that are difficult to imagine.

Even before her death, his parents were separated and then officially divorced, not living in the same home as their children would have preferred. William didn’t get to experience the cozy, tight-knit family dynamic that Kate did.

Much of his time was spent being looked after by nannies, and he was in the spotlight from the time he was a young child. Kate, on the other hand, was a commoner before marrying into the royal family, and her parents are still together to this day. Being around Kate’s family was something that William genuinely enjoyed whenever he visited his then-girlfriend at her home.

Did this help Prince William fall in love with Kate Middleton?

There is no denying that the Middleton family is extremely close. Kate and Pippa, in particular, spent a great deal of time together, and Vanity Fair reports that the sisters truly enjoyed their time together recently at Wimbledon.

Before they were married, Prince William admired the bond that all of the members of the Middleton family have with each other.

In fact, he enjoyed his time with them so much and was so close to everyone that The Sun reports that he used to lay on the couch with his head in Carole Middleton’s lap. Not only that, but he spent hours in deep conversation with Kate’s father, Michael.

It is wonderful that Kate’s family is so close and that William was able to be part of that as well. The closeness is what helped William fall in love with Kate and also the entire family.
