Diddy Has a Personal Tea Set Collection
Sean “Diddy” Combs has expanded his empire far beyond music over the past three decades. The rapper, record executive, and entrepreneur has dipped his toes in several different business ventures, and as a result, has built a sizable personal fortune.
Diddy has been a music icon for decades
Diddy founded the iconic record label Bad Boy Records in 1993; his first signee and flagship artist was his good friend, The Notorious B.I.G. In the infamous East Coast vs. West Coast hip-hop feud of the 1990s, Bad Boy Records represented East Coast rap in its epicenter of New York City, while Suge Knight’s Death Row Records (led by rap superstar Tupac Shakur) represented the West Coast.
Bad Boy Records has had several iconic artists on its roster. Faith Evans, The Lox, Total, 112, Mase, and Foxy Brown have all been signed to the label at one point. In 2007, Janelle Monáe inked a deal with Bad Boy and has been signed with the label since; she’s joined by rappers French Montana and Machine Gun Kelly.
Diddy has also made a name for himself as a rapper. His debut solo album, 1997’s No Way Out, won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and sold over 7 million copies. Diddy continued to release music throughout the 2000s and 2010s, with hits such as “Last Night” with Keyshia Cole.
Diddy collects tea sets
With so many accomplishments as a rapper, it might be hard to believe that Diddy has many personal habits that people often don’t associate with hip-hop figures. In 2016, Diddy revealed some interesting fun facts about himself in an interview with Us Weekly. Among one of the most surprising: “I collect tea sets.”
In addition to boasting a tea set collection, Diddy has several other parts of his life that he’s proud of. In 2003, he ran the New York City Marathon in 4 hours, 14 minutes, and 54 seconds, raising $2 million for the city’s children. In addition to running, he also takes long walks alone to center himself.
Diddy even admitted that he eats applesauce with every meal and sleeps with 15 pillows.
Diddy is also an alcohol magnate
Tea isn’t the only drink that Diddy frequently consumes. He’s also gotten involved in the world of alcohol as an entrepreneur.
In 2007, Diddy signed on to help develop the Cîroc vodka brand for a 50% share of the company’s profits. Since then, Cîroc has become many rappers’ vodka of choice and the company’s profits grew 40-fold. He even admitted to Us Weekly that he created all the different flavors of the popular vodka.
Diddy turned his focus from vodka to tequila in 2014. He bought the top-shelf tequila brand DeLeón in a deal with alcohol conglomerate Diageo. According to The Guardian, one shot of DeLeón goes for up to $90.
“With Cîroc, we dated. Now with DeLeon, we’re married,” he said at the time. “This deal is way better. This makes me a true owner.”
