Disney + News: Here’s When ‘The Mandalorian’ And Other Series Will Release Each Episode
At launch on Nov. 12, 2019, the new streaming service, Disney+, will have plenty of content available, including Marvel movies, animated classics, and much more. There will also be plenty of never seen material, such as new shows like The Mandalorian. However, these will be releasing week to week.
Disney+ launches on a Tuesday, but the company is taking a page out of Netflix’s book and releasing new episodes on Fridays. Here’s a look at everything week-to-week series that’s being released in this first month.
On launch day, Tuesday, Nov. 12, only “Chapter 1” of The Mandalorian, a series linked to the Star Wars franchise, will be available on Disney+. The synopsis reads simply, “A Mandalorian bounty hunter tracks a target for a well-paying client.”
On Friday, Nov. 15, “Chapter 2” becomes available. For this, the synopsis reads, “Target in-hand, The Mandalorian must now contend with scavengers.
One week later, on Friday, Nov. 22, “Chapter 3” of The Mandalorian will be released. “The battered Mandalorian returns to his client for reward,” reads the synopsis.
‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’
Episode 101 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will be available at launch. Titled “The Audition,” the synopsis reads, “Ricky decides to audition for East High’s fall musical, ‘High School Musical,’ in an effort to rekindle his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Nini.”
Episode 102 (somehow also titled “The Audition,” will be released on Friday, Nov. 22. “E.J. is jealous and reeling after losing the leading role of ‘Troy’ to Ricky, and Miss Jenn tells the conflicted leading lady, Nini, to ‘trust the process,'” reads the synopsis.
On Friday, Nov. 22, Episode 103 “The Wonderstudies,” becomes available on Disney+. The lengthy synopsis reads, “After ‘losing’ her phone and missing an important rehearsal, Nini suspects who is responsible for her bout with bad luck and surprisingly retaliates. EJ confronts Ricky about a heartfelt voicemail left for Nini. Meanwhile, Mr. Mazzara becomes suspicious of Miss Jenn’s past.”
The first episode of Encore! (which follows host Kristen Bell as she helps former high school drama students put on musicals), titled “Annie,” will be available at launch. Classmates from Santana High School in California will reunite 23 years later to put on the production.
Episode 102, titled “Beauty and the Beast,” will be released on Friday, Nov. 15. It sees former students of Saginaw High School in Texas put on the production 12 years after they first did so.
The third episode of Encore! is “Sound of Music.” Available on Friday, Nov. 22, it brings together classmates from Flint Central High School in Michigan reuniting 27 years later.
‘Marvel’s Hero Project’
At launch, only episode 101, “Sensational Jordan,” of Marvel’s Hero Project (in which real kids become the subject of their own comic book) will be available to stream. It focuses on a girl with a limb difference who has created tools for other kids such as herself.
On Friday, Nov. 15, Episode 102 “Incredible Elijah,” will begin streaming. Elijah works to rally around other kids and helps prevent child abuse.
A week later, on Friday, Nov. 22, there will be a third episode available. “Unstoppable Adonis” follows a high school football player who is visually impaired.
‘The Imagineering Story’
Part 1 of The Imagineering Story is titled “The Happiest Place on Earth.” Available at launch, this episode reveals the beginning of the Imagineers program, as founded by Walt Disney himself.
The second part, titled “What Would Walt Do?” continues the story as Roy O. Disney works to build Walt Disney World after his brother’s death. It begins streaming on Nov. 15.
An untitled third chapter continues into the modern age. Two men, Michael Eisner and Frank Weels, continue the Imagineering program as Disney expands into Europe. You can watch this episode beginning on Nov. 22.
‘The World According to Jeff Goldblum’
The first episode of The World According to Jeff Goldblum is available at launch. Titled “Sneakers,” it sees the actor discover the massive industry, attend Sneaker Con, and make a customized shoe for himself.
Episode 102, “Ice Cream,” follows Goldblum as he gathers his own ingredients, meets with the founders of Ben & Jerry, and much more. This episode becomes available on Nov. 15.
Finally, Episode 103, releasing on Nov. 22, is titled “Tattoos.” Goldblum goes to a tattoo convention, meets tattoo artists, and even goes to a celebration called “Jeff Goldblum Day” where he attempts to become a tattoo artist himself.
