Disney+ Users Can Now Set Their Icon to ‘Baby Yoda’ From ‘The Mandalorian’ and We Seriously Can’t Handle the Cuteness
Everyone knows Baby Yoda is the true meme king of the original Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. Now, the cutest creature in the galaxy is now available to be a profile icon on Disney+ and fans are freaking out. Here’s what fans are saying about the latest announcement from Disney’s streaming platform.
Baby Yoda is the cutest addition to the Disney+ series, ‘The Mandalorian’
Sure, the Mandalorian may be one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy. Fans first met the Mandalorian with the Disney+ original series, which premiered on the streaming platform’s launch date. Additionally, The Mandalorian became the first-ever live-action Star Wars television series.
Since then, the true star of The Mandalorian emerged — the adorable, powerful, soup-sipping child, nicknamed “Baby Yoda” by fans on the Internet. On Dec. 12, 2019, Disney+ added this green friend to their list of profile icons.
Fans can now change their Disney+ icon to the Child from Star Wars’ series
The force is strong with this Star Wars character. Now, he joins other Star Wars characters like Darth Vader, BB-8, and Chewbacca as icon options for Disney+ users. He may not be sipping his soup, but he’s still totally adorable. Disney+ shared their exciting news with their followers on Instagram on Dec. 12, 2019.
“We apologize in advance for the family feud this may cause. The Child from #TheMandalorian is now available as a profile icon on #DisneyPlus,” Disney+ wrote as their Instagram caption. Within a few hours, the post earned over 400 thousand views, most from fans of the original series.
These icon options are for users of Disney’s streaming service. With this subscription platform, there can be multiple different profiles under one account. However, some families argued over while profile can have this adorable Star Wars character as their icon.
Some Twitter users shared their love for Baby Yoda and ‘The Mandalorian’
Since Disney+ added their newest icon, a few family fights broke out regarding who could claim the adorable character. Some took to social media, sharing their latest Disney+ update and their love for this Mandalorian character.
“So [Disney Plus] added the Baby Yoda Icon and I went to go make it mine but my older brother beat me to it, so, of course, I text the family group chat to yell at him. He says, ‘ya snooze ya lose…’ I proceeded to claim he should get old man Yoda because he’s old,” said one Twitter user.
“Literally had an argument over who gets Baby Yoda. My dad agreed to be old Yoda, though, so it’s fine,” said one comment on Instagram. Other Twitter users shared their love for the Child of the Disney+ original Star Wars series.
“Baby Yoda is a millennial icon because he’s 50-years-old and just now getting his life going and if that doesn’t give you hope, I don’t know what does,” said one Twitter user.
