DJ D-Nice Headlines Budweiser COVID-19 Campaign With Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Tiffany Haddish and More

As the country slowly reopens following weeks of social distancing and strict quarantine orders, creative forms of entertainment birthed during the shutdown remain. Millions enjoyed new and old content made available on streaming platforms and participated in virtual dance challenges – but one of the most popular moments was courtesy of celebrity disc jockey, DJ D-Nice. He created his popular virtual dance party, “Club Quarantine.”

Nice is now the headlining DJ for Budweiser’s new temporary digital campaign for COVID-19, where he will provide music as celebrities tune in for interactions with fans.

Budweiser unveils COVID-19 campaign

Budweiser has unveiled a new campaign in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The beer brand has revised it’s iconic “whassup” commercial to encourage Americans to stay in touch with loved ones while prioritizing social distancing to slow the spread of the virus.

To launch the campaign, Budweiser has enlisted the help of celebrities and influencers where they will go live with a fresh beer and answer questions submitted by fans. Every day at 6 PM EST, viewers can tune into Budweiser’s Instagram channel for giveaways, live chats, and challenges. 

A new celebrity will participate in the chat every Thursday. As part of the initiative, Budweiser is making a donation to the Salvation Army to help meet the needs of those impacted by COVID-19.

To kick things off, celebrity couple Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union joined Wade’s friend and former Miami Heat teammate Chris Bosh, WNBA LA Sparks player, Candace Parker, and Nice during one of his virtual ‘Club Quarantine’ dance parties.

In the second week, Budweiser released a follow-up remake of the “whassup” commercial which included Union, and Wade, as well as Insecure stars Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji, Emmy Raver-Lampman, and Broadway star Daveed Diggs.

The May 7 episode will once again feature Nice spinning a specially curated mix and looks forward to saying “whassup” to a few other celebrity faces. Tiffany Haddish and Common have also made special guest appearances and there are sure to be more surprises in store.

DJ D-Nice has a new following after his “Club Quarantine” parties

With the number of new fans Nice has amassed as a result of his quarantine parties, there’s no telling what surprise guests will pop in to say “whassup.” His debut virtual club attracted over 100,000 viewers and has grown since. Other DJ’s and music heads, including Quest Love of The Roots, have also followed suit.

Nice’s eclectic taste in music has a little something for everyone. He’s well versed in all genres, playing everything including hip-hop, house music, R&B, reggae, and soul classics. He’s also infused some country, inspirational, and disco tracks. 

Along with everyday people who tuned in while under stay at home orders across the country, his new movement has attracted the likes of Rihanna, Halle Berry, Drake, Will Smith, J.Lo, and Janet Jackson. Even major political figures including the Obamas are huge fans and dropped comments in his live.

Nice has made the movement his signature gig under quarantine and has partnered with other brands and stars to help in providing entertainment mixed with education during this time.

Along with the new Budweiser partnership, Nice has partnerships with Spotify for their music streaming subscribers, a revival of MTV’s Club MTV, and a partnership with former First Lady Michelle Obama for a virtual voting party.
