Do Kanye West and Kylie Jenner Get Along?

It can be hard to keep up with all the Kardashian family members these days, especially now that so many of them are having kids and moving on to their own individual businesses. The famous family has never shied away from drama, and their popular reality show, soon to return for the sixteenth season, documents their fights and disagreements just as often as it reveals their love lives and favorite downtime activities.

Over the past several years, rumors of a rift between Kanye West, Kim Kardashian’s husband, and the youngest sibling in the family, Kylie Jenner, keep persisting. Is there any truth to the rumors, or are they just another tabloid creation? We break it down in the latest Kardashian family rundown.

Kanye West is famous for feuding

Even before he married one of the most controversial women in the world, Kanye West was renowned for causing drama. The award-winning singer and fashion designer has never shied away from a verbal tussle and has no qualms calling out friends, family, and random acquaintances for any perceived slight.

His feud with Taylor Swift is likely the most famous one – no one will ever forget the moment when, at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when Taylor Swift was on stage accepting her award for “Best Female Video.” Her moment of triumph was quickly interrupted when Kanye West leaped on stage next to her and took over her microphone, proclaiming that Beyonce, who had been nominated in the same category as Swift, was more deserving of the award. The moment made headlines everywhere and kickstarted West’s series of celebrity feuds that would persist for the next decade. Many critics of West’s claim that he is now far more famous for his erratic behavior than for his music.

West’s relationship with Kylie Jenner

Kanye West and the Kardashian family go way back – as far back as 2003 when West met Kim Kardashian for the first time. Although the two would become friends and spend time together platonically for years, it wasn’t until 2012 that they started dating. Things moved quickly after that, and in just a few short years, West and Kardashian would marry and welcome three children, with their fourth child due later this year.

West has always reportedly gotten along well with Kardashian’s family and has been a brother figure to the younger Kardashian/Jenners. However, rift rumors between West and Kylie Jenner first started in 2018, when Travis Scott, Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend, collaborated with Drake, with whom West has been in a longtime feud. Fans speculated that images of Travis Scott wearing a Nike brand sweatshirt were meant as a pot shot at West, who has a deal with rival company Adidas.

Kylie Jenner intervenes

Kylie Jenner was quick to shut down the rift rumors on her Twitter account, claiming that Scott has a deal with Nike and that there was never any bad blood between the two men. She reassured fans by stating that Scott was not being petty and that everyone is happy and just living life. Ultimately, West also took to Twitter, stating that “it’s all love” between the two. Even with the brief upset between Travis Scott and West, it seems as though West’s feelings towards Kylie Jenner never turned sour – reportedly, the rapper even had a one-on-one chat with Travis Scott about fatherhood, and how he will be watching to make sure that Scott is always there when Jenner needs him.

It seems that West has truly become one of the family and that as far as the Kardashian/Jenners are concerned, he will always have a strong support system.
