Do Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth Coordinate Their Outfits On Purpose?

Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth may come from different generations, but they both certainly know how to dress the part. The two have appeared together for scores of events over the years, and sometimes they coordinate their look for the public’s enjoyment. Middleton prepares for a central role in the royal family

It may be a long time before Prince William sits on the throne, but Kate is already preparing for the day she becomes the Queen Consort.

The Duchess of Cambridge just turned 38 years old this year and has increased her workload like never before. For example, Kate has already appeared over a dozen times in public this year and has worked a lot on her early childhood development project.

There are several reasons why Kate Middleton is taking on more responsibilities in the royal family. For starters, the royals are going through some serious changes at the moment with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s shocking exit.

Harry and Meghan did a lot for the monarchy, and it will be up to William and Kate to pick up the slack in the wake of their exit.

Secondly, Kate is also taking on more so that her transition to Queen Consort is smoother. To that end, royal watchers can expect to see Kate take part in more royal engagements than ever before, especially with it comes to appearing in public alongside Queen Elizabeth.

Do Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth coordinate their outfits?

When Kate and Her Majesty appear in public together, they are often wearing complementary outfits. This has led to some speculation that the two coordinate their looks ahead of time.

There are plenty of examples of Kate and Queen Elizabeth wearing the same colors. Last summer, for instance, the pair practically wore the same white dress with matching tiaras and sashes at a state dinner for Donald Trump.

Their best-coordinated look to date, meanwhile, may have come at the Royal Ascot event last year, when Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth rocked matching floral hats.

While it may seem as though the two often coordinate outfits, that might not be the case. According to Insider, the royals have specific dress codes when it comes to certain events, which might explain why they are often matching.

For Remembrance Day, for example, the ladies in the royal family are required to wear a specific color, which obviously results in similar dresses.

Kate Middleton matures as a royal

When she was first dating William, there was a lot of speculation about how Kate would handle the royal spotlight. Despite some serious doubts, Kate has transitioned quite nicely over the past decade to become one of the most popular members of the royal family.

In her book, Royal Romances, Leslie Carroll argued that Kate has become a “polished and poised” royal who is ready to take on the title of Queen Consort.

“She grew into the role of the royal bride, having been William’s girlfriend for nearly a decade,” Carroll shared. “Now that she has been a duchess for nearly the same amount of time, we’ve gotten a good look at who she is as a royal and what’s important.”

Based on the work she has done over the years, it is clear that Kate Middleton values motherhood and being a supportive wife to William. In fact, Carroll believes that Kate will continue to display those traditional values when William is on the throne.

And when it comes to her relationship with Queen Elizabeth, royal experts believe Kate and Queen Elizabeth are closer than ever.

Queen Elizabeth shares a close bond with Middleton

Kate has not always enjoyed a close relationship with Queen Elizabeth. Royal expert Katie Nicholl recently revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge and Her Majesty are both shy, which has made it difficult for them to develop a tight bond.

But now that they have worked with each other for years, Nicholl says that Kate Middleton has become one of Queen Elizabeth’s favorite royal.

“Both women are actually quite shy, so it’s taken time for them to get to this stage, but they have a very easy relationship now [that] they’ve both made the effort,” Nicholl explained.

“The queen loves seeing Kate because it’s an opportunity to spend time with her and hear how great her grandchildren are doing.”

Kate, of course, is the proud mother of three children with William, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. George is currently third in line to the throne, following his father and grandfather, Prince Charles.

Now that Harry and Meghan are out of the royal family, Kate’s relationship with Queen Elizabeth will likely grow stronger.

Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth have not commented on the reports surrounding their fashion decisions.
