Do Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Have an ‘Agreement’ to Get Along in Public?
There’s never a shortage of rumors that Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are feuding but, by all appearances, they seem to get along well enough when they’re seen together in public. If a new report is true, their public civility might be by design, as it’s believed they have made an agreement to get along.
The Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle feud rumors persist
Markle and Middleton feuding rumors seem to dominate the headlines and one royal expert has a logical reason behind why the media turns the focus on the pair not getting along.
Royal filmmaker Nick Bullen, who has been making shows about the British family for 20 years, gives the insider perspective on why the feuding rumors mostly involve Middleton and Markle. Bullen told Fox News recently that “it’s a much sexier story to have two duchesses at war.”
He added: “Let’s have these two super glamorous women — one British, one American. One an actress, one sort of an English rose. Let’s put them against each other… that’s the sexy sort of media story.”
Are Prince William and Prince Harry feuding?
While the media focuses their attention on the duchesses, Bullen explained how their husbands are more likely to be feuding, noting: “It’s actually that William and Harry have had a rift. I think you know, look. All brothers fall out. All families fall out. Their fallout at the moment is becoming public.”
Bullen continued: “I think people don’t want to think about that with these two boys. These are two boys who lost their mother [Princess Diana] at a really early age, and the fairytale is that they are closer than ever, and need each other, and I think that’s probably true, but equally they are two grown men in their 30s, starting their own families, different wives, they are moving to different parts of the country, different duties.”
Do Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have an agreement to get along?
As the rumors continue, it’s clear the Middleton and Markle don’t do anything publicly to raise eyebrows or support the claims of a feud. Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Glamour she believes some “tension” exists, noting: “I do think there is some truth to there having been some tension — not just between the duchesses but between the dukes as well.”
Nicholl added: “As we all know, things can gather momentum pretty quickly. So while I think there’s been tension, I don’t believe there has been some feud.”
Getting along publicly, Nicholl believes, is due to the duchesses having an arrangement, as she shared: “I do know that Meghan and Kate have come to an agreement to get along, to make an effort, to be amiable and warm toward each other in public. They both realize it’s in neither of their interests to have these catfight headlines. It’s not what either of them want.”
Whether they have an “agreement” or not isn’t confirmed, but Middleton and Markle certainly looked friendly enough when they were together recently for the Commonwealth Day church service. The two greeted each other with a hug and a kiss!
