Do Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew Still Live Together?

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York have been divorced since 1996. However, the pair are still thick as thieves. Over the years they’ve remained a united front –attending various royal events together and supporting their daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in their endeavors.  Though fans of the royal family adored the red-head and the navy prince when they first tied the knot, their marriage was over by 1992 when Fergie was photographed topless with oil tycoon, John Bryan. Bryan was also sucking Fergie’s toes in the pictures. Before the pictures, the marriage had been strained due to distance and infidelity.

The couple officially divorced in 1996 and Fergie duchess was stripped of her title, Her Royal Highness. In their divorce settlement, Fergie was awarded a lump sum of £3 million and given a meager amount of just £15,000 a year. However, these days the couple seems inseparable. Do they still live together after all these years?

Never separated

Sarah Ferguson never left the York family home when she and Prince Andrew divorced. Their young daughters were still young at the time, and the pair decided they needed to be together to support their girls. To give their girls the best chance of stability, Fergie simply moved into separate living quarters from her ex-husband.

Royal Lodge

In 2003, Queen Elizabeth II gifted Prince Andrew with Royal Lodge which is located in Windsor Great Park. The property was previously the private residence of the Queen Mother for over 70 years. Initially, the home was built for King George IV to entertain guests during Royal Ascot each year. Before he moved in, Prince Andrew spent £7.5m renovating the 30-room house. Since his daughters were barely teens at the time, he decided to include an indoor swimming pool. Royal Lodge also has gardens, a private chapel and it sits on 21 acres of secluded grounds. The residence also has eight separate houses for staff members.

Along with her daughters, Fergie moved into Royal Lodge with Prince Andrew in 2008. In a 2016 interview with Harper’s BAZAAR US, Princess Eugenie was photographed at Royal Lodge. The magazine reported, “‘It’s the definition of comfy cozy, with family pictures scattered around and Norfolk terriers wandering in and out.”

Moving out

In 2013, Fergie opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband. She said, “He’s still my handsome prince, he’ll always be my handsome prince. We really believe in being good parents for our girls. In our every day, we really respect each other and we honor each other.”

However, in 2015 the media caught wind of a moving van removing her possessions from Royal Lodge. With her daughters fully grown up, the duchess decided it was time to branch out on her own. Wanting more privacy, she now lives in a permanent residence in a multi-million-pound chalet she owns with Prince Andrew in Verbier, Switzerland. She still has her rooms at Royal Lodge for family occasions.

Still, from the looks of it, it doesn’t appear that distance could ever truly sperate the prince and the duchess.
