According to Digital Spy, being part of Doctor Who season 12 as one of its guest stars is “a very sweet second-place excitement” to “being picked for a British space exploration program” for Stephen Fry. Lenny Henry says that he thought it “was absolutely brilliant to be welcomed into the fantastical world of Doctor Who.” Before becoming one of the guest stars in Doctor Who season 12, “the nearest [Henry has] been to the TARDIS was when [he] played the Caribbean Doctor in The Lenny Henry Show.” He goes on to say that “as a lifelong hiding-behind-the-sofa type Doctor Who fan, this is a very special moment for [him].”

Laura Fraser, according to Digital Spy, “watched Doctor Who every week as a child.” She also “[loves the] episode [she is in] and couldn’t resist playing such an intense character.” Anjli Mohindra says “it’s a bit of a dream come true getting to work opposite Jodie [Whittaker], Mandip [Gill], Tosin [Cole] and of course after all these years, to work with Bradley [Walsh] again!” She also says that ” to be bringing some terror to the joint was rather fun.”

Goran Višnjić says that he’s “always been a huge fan of Doctor Who.” The role is also great because he got to portray “one of [his] favorite people in history.” Glenister tells Radio Times that he “first appeared in Doctor Who at the tender age of 24 in 1984.” For him to “[get] to be in it again at the not so tender age of nearly 60” shows “how time flies!”
