Does Kris Jenner Believe That Kylie Jenner Is Actually A ‘Self-Made’ Billionaire?
Everyone knows that the Kardashian-Jenner family is worth a ton of money, but some members are worth a whole lot more than the rest.
Kylie Jenner has just crowned the youngest self-made billionaire by Forbes and the makeup mogul has been getting a lot of heat for it.
Many believe that since Jenner came from money, she should not be considered “self-made.”
Though some are against her new title, Kris Jenner believes her daughter worked harder than anyone to obtain her billionaire status.
Kylie’s company was started with her own money
When it comes to her daughters, Kris Jenner will always be their biggest supporter and sets the record straight when their family name is in question.
In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Jenner went into detail as to why Kylie Jenner should be considered a self-made billionaire.
Though Jenner admits to handing her children certain things throughout the years, their hard work is what made them rich beyond wonder.
“I mean, listen, my girls, you can say that certain things have been handed to them, but it takes a lot of work to do what they’re doing,” she said, sharing that even though Kylie inherited a large platform because of her last name, “the money she’s made is her own.”
Though Kylie Jenner has said this before, momager Kris reiterated that her daughter started Kylie Cosmetics “with her own savings,” and worked tirelessly to make it one of the top beauty companies to date.
“She put her own blood, sweat, and tears into it. It was her idea. It was amazing what she did,” Jenner said, adding that her entire family took notes from the youngest sister.
“She showed the rest of us how to do it,” Kris boasted.
Kylie did it all without any help from her parents
Though Kylie Jenner comes from the most famous family in Hollywood, all of her success was due to her hard work over the years.
Back in March, Jenner admitted that even though she didn’t inherit her fortune, she “can’t say” she became a billionaire all on her own.
“I can’t say I’ve done it by myself,” Jenner told The New York Times in March. “If they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.”
Though Kylie Cosmetics is worth a whopping $900 million, with Jenner owning 100% of the company, a good portion of her earnings stem from previous endorsements.
Over the past few years, Kylie Jenner has received hefty paychecks from doing sponsored posts, Keeping Up With The Kardashians episodes, the Kendall + Kylie clothing line, and her Adidas partnership.
Jenner has shared that her family had nothing to do with her success over the years and stands by being “self-made” since her parents cut her off at 15.
“My parents told me I needed to make my own money, it’s time to learn how to save and spend your own money, stuff like that,” she told Paper magazine back in February. “What I’m trying to say is I did have a platform, but none of my money is inherited.”
Though Kylie continued to live with Kris Jenner until she was 18, the makeup mogul revealed that her mother stopped funding her lifestyle three years prior.
“She had a refrigerator full of food and all the luxuries that come with [living with] Mom but unless it was a gift, if she wanted a new Chanel bag, Kylie was the one paying for it,” a source said.
