Does Kris Jenner Host Thanksgiving Dinner for the Kardashian-Jenner Family?
Even those who don’t routinely keep up with the Kardashian-Jenners know how much they love holidays. On major ones, such as Christmas, they often come together and throw the most over-the-top celebrations, complete with festive decorations and more celebrities than we can count.
With Thanksgiving 2019 underway, you might be wondering how they celebrate it. Does matriarch Kris Jenner prepare and host dinner? Or does someone else handle that? Here’s everything you need to know.
Thanksgiving with the Kardashian-Jenners
For a long time, it appears that Kris was solely responsible for Thanksgiving dinner. She would often have a feast at her Calabasas compound, with all of her kids in attendance.
“We do a very traditional Thanksgiving dinner,” the momager told People in 2014. “It’s turkey and dressing, gravy, mashies, veggies and stuffing and, of course, a gazillion desserts.”
It’s a process that takes days to complete. According to Jenner, she first prepares by setting the dinner table four days in advance. “It takes me that long to get it just right, layering the different decorations, adding and taking away things until I can stand back and say, ‘Yes, that’s it,’” she added.
She loves to accessorize the table with lavish decorations from designers and fashion houses such as Hermes and Williams Sonoma.
Her children have started to take over
Over the years, the Kardashian-Jenner children have started to assume Thanksgiving responsibilities.
In 2015, Khloé Kardashian was in charge and hosted dinner at her home, setting the table with stunning decor and heaps of classic treats.
Though the responsibility has mostly fallen on her children, Kris still hosts Thanksgiving dinner every now and then. In 2018, for example, the feast went down at her home. People reported that the entire clan showed up — with the exception of Khloé, who stayed in Cleveland with her then-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, and their daughter, True.
How are the Kardashian-Jenners celebrating Thanksgiving 2019?
Their plans for Thanksgiving 2019 are unclear. However, Kim Kardashian West said in a November 2019 appearance on The Real that her family had been arguing over whether they would hire a chef.
“We’ve been talking about this cooking thing. You feel like we should cook it all on our own, Kylie and mom thinks we should get a chef,” Kim said. “It’s like split.”
Later in the month, the family hosted an event at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, where they handed out food to those in need.
“As we head into the holiday season, it’s a reminder to be thankful for all of our blessings and I’m so grateful,” Kris captioned a photo from the event.
