Does Kylie Jenner Really Need to Use Cars as a Status Symbol?

It’s no secret that Kylie Jenner was born into a wealthy family. But nowadays, she actually doesn’t need her family’s money. Thanks to her cosmetics line, she is now one of the youngest billionaires in the world.

It seems like whenever any celebrity makes it to a certain level of fame, they celebrate by buying a large collection of expensive cars. And Jenner is no different. If you have ever seen any of Jenner’s social media pages, you will find several pictures that showcase all of the extravagant and high-end vehicles that she owns.

Lately, however, Jenner has been receiving quite a bit of criticism for showing off her car collection. Many people believe that there is no need for her to continue to flaunt how much money she has in her fan’s faces.

Is the young billionaire taking things too far by continuing to brag about her wealth, or are her fans just being a little too critical of her decisions?

Is Kylie Jenner a self-made billionaire?

Jenner started selling her own brand of lipsticks in 2015 when she launched her company: Kylie Lip Kits. The next year, she had changed the company’s name to Kylie Cosmetics and also began expanding her cosmetics line to retail a wide selection of beauty products. Forbes had estimated her company, which she is the sole owner of, to be worth $900 million.

Forbes also proclaimed Jenner is the youngest-ever self-made billionaire. However, many fans were quick to point out that Forbes may have misspoken when they referred to Jenner’s financial status as “self-made.” Jenner’s critics had argued that she came from a family that was already extremely famous. And thanks to her family’s TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, millions of people had already known who Jenner was before she had ever launched her own company.

Many fans feel that instead of Jenner having to start from the bottom and work her way up to the top — as a lot of self-made billionaires have done —— she was just able to become an extension of a brand that had already existed. It’s no small accomplishment by any means, but just not quite as accurate as Forbes depicts.

While many people are still debating whether or not Jenner is actually a self-made billionaire, nobody is questioning the fact that she is still a billionaire. And many fans seem to be extremely angry at the fact that Jenner continues to remind us all of how much money she has.

In the past, Jenner has posted several pictures of her cars on her Instagram account. Recently, however, she posted a picture that showed her posing with six of her luxury cars, including her very expensive Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, and a Porsche. While she has posted a picture of most of these cars separately in the past, but seeing them all together had apparently infuriated a lot of her fans.

One commenter wrote: “Use your money elsewhere…spend it on charity, not cars.”

Another person had said: “This world is crazy. Some people buy 863,367 cars, and some people can hardly buy food let alone pay tuition fees for university. It’s a shame to show off, but I guess rich people don’t care.”

Does Kylie Jenner really need to use her cars as a status symbol?

It is true that Jenner has no idea what it is like to struggle to pay her bills or buy food. However, she is certainly not the first celebrity who has flaunted their car collection to their fans. Also, no matter how she got to be as wealthy as she is, the fact of the matter is that she does have quite a bit of money and it is up to her to decide how she wants to spend it.

We can also understand why some fans would get angry with Jenner: nobody likes a bragger. But Jenner may not consider her post to be her bragging about anything. Instead, she may feel that she is just simply showing her fans what hard work can give you.
