Does Lamar Odom Still Want to Get Back Together with Khloe Kardashian?
The Kardashians are certainly known for messy breakups. From Kim to Kylie, the Kardashian/Jenner women know their way around a public split. But one of the most heartbreaking divorces was the one between Khloe and former basketball player Lamar Odom.
The two’s whirlwind romance was documented on Keeping Up with the Kardashians where we got to see Odom propose to Khloe in front of her whole family. The couple decided to get married just one short month after meeting. Later, Odom and Khloe scored a spin-off show, Khloe & Lamar, which made them seem even more head over heels in love with each other.
At least it did until Odom spent four days in a coma following a drug overdose at a brothel in 2015. After this incident, Khloe filed for divorce and the separation was finalized in 2016.
Does Odom still want to be with Kardashian?
From the moment that Odom met Kardashian, he knew that she was the one.
“Love is strange,” Odom told Jenny McCarthy in a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Jenny McCarthy Show.
“I’m gonna tell you something too. I love my family with all my heart, but that’s how I knew she was the one because no one could tell me no I wasn’t getting married to Khloé,” he explained. “It would have been real easy for me to say, ‘Alright, don’t ever call me again.’ … That’s how strong it was.”
Over the years since the divorce, Odom has gone from being angry to remorseful and repentant. And when asked, he admitted that Khloe was still the love of his life.
Overall, Odom is hopeful that one day, he and his ex-wife can reconnect.
When asked whether there might be a chance that they could get back together, Odom told McCarthy that she’d have to ask Khloe.
“I hope,” he continued. “I wake up hoping that, but you probably would have to ask her.”
Odom’s drug abuse
While married to Khloe, Odom suffered from drug addiction. The addiction grew so severe that it made him act completely out of character.
In his new book, “Darkness to Light,” Odom talked about a time that he threatened to kill his wife while high on cocaine and ecstasy.
“When you’re an addict, sometimes you go into these dark, dark, extremely dark places,” he wrote. “And because of what I’ve witnessed when I was a child, there’s no way anybody can even pay me to hit my wife. But you know, when you hallucinating out of your f—ing mind, you can’t control yourself. You’re not the same person.”
During his 2015 overdose, Odom suffered 12 strokes and 6 heart attacks, which has caused him to have some memory loss.
Right now, Odom is staying sober.
“When you’re an addict, that’s something that you live with forever,” he told TMZ recently. “You don’t just put that behind you. It takes years … everybody gets the urge, but getting high is not in my agenda right now.”
Odom is currently planning to come back to professional basketball and play in the Big3, which is a professional three-on-three basketball league this summer.
