Does Liam Hemsworth Miss Miley Cyrus? He’s Reportedly Still Feeling ‘A Little Bit Down’

Miley Cyrus may be on vocal rest following her vocal cord surgery, but she’s still showing her endless love for her singer/songwriter boyfriend, Cody Simpson. Simpson and Cyrus sustained a friendship for years before getting together romantically. Now, it seems the two are inseparable, as Simpson continues to post photos and videos of Cyrus to his Instagram to show how much he adores her.

It seems like this relationship happened quickly, especially since Cyrus just married Liam Hemsworth in December 2018. Sadly, we know their romance didn’t last, as Hemsworth filed for divorce in August 2019. And some sources claim he’s still down about the whole thing. Here’s what’s reported.

Reports claimed Hemsworth was ‘heartbroken’ over Miley Cyrus’ romance with Kaitlynn Carter

Cyrus and Hemsworth have had an on and off relationship for the last decade, but they completely called it quits during the summer of 2019. The Cut explains the breakup seemed peaceful at first, but further details revealed it may have been anything but. TMZ claimed Cyrus was fed up with Hemsworth’s partying ways and drug usage. But those on Hemsworth’s side claimed Cyrus cheated during their marriage and wouldn’t take responsibility for her “outrageous public behavior.”

It seems Cyrus’ relationship with Kaitlynn Carter prior to her romance with Simpson may have hurt Hemsworth more than many thought it would. While Cyrus and Hemsworth were over by the time Cyrus and Carter started publically showing off their romance, Page Six reports Hemsworth was upset by what he saw.

“He was heartbroken and blindsided by those photos,” a source told Page Six regarding the photos of Cyrus and Carter kissing. Another source added, “They are still married and they really did love each other. She’s really immature and always has been.”

Others say Hemsworth is still ‘down’ about Cyrus

It seems sources even closer to Hemsworth are also remarking on the breakup. Chris Hemsworth’s wife, Elsa Pataky, spoke to Hola! about her brother-in-law, and she mentioned how the split from Cyrus affected him as well.

“My brother-in-law, well… After a relationship that you’ve dedicated ten years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well,” Pataky said. She then added that she believes Hemsworth is “strong” and “deserves the best, I think he deserves much more. You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with his brother, who has been there to give all the strength he needed.”

We can’t forget that after Hemsworth and Cyrus split, he spent some time living in his brother’s home in their native country of Australia to get back on his own two feet. As far as we know, it seems he’s still there, too — though he’s also making trips to see his rumored new girlfriend, Maddison Brown.

Even if Hemsworth is still dealing with the emotional impact of his split from Cyrus, he’s not wasting any time before moving on. Back in October, Hemsworth was spotted with Brown in New York City, People reports. The couple was reportedly spotted partying at The Flower Shop and the Alley Cat Amateur Theater, two bars in the big city. And they even shared a sweet kiss.

Despite the PDA, it seems Hemsworth and Brown are taking things one day at a time. “Liam is taking it slow, but he’s definitely interested in her,” a source told People. And others who spotted the couple seemed to notice how happy and comfortable they appear to be around each other.

“Both being Aussies, their love for the beach and the fact that they share careers has bonded them,” another insider noted.

Many are still hopeful Hemsworth and Cyrus will work out their differences and get back together. But given what we’ve seen so far, it seems clear they’ve both moved on. Is there any hope for a reconciliation? Only time will tell — but for now, we expect to see plenty of Simpson and Brown on their Instagrams in the future.
