Does ‘NCIS’ Star Wilmer Valderrama Want Bishop and Torres to Get Together?
NCIS fans have been shipping Bishop (Wilmer Valderrama) and Torres (Emily Wickersham) for years and it looks like season 17 might finally see them get romantic. We are still in the first half of the season, yet more hints have been dropped that the two might actually get together. And in a recent interview, Valderrama admitted that he’s right there with fans and would love to see Bishop and Torres get serious in the near future.
Valderrama opens up about Bishop and Torres romance
The relationship between Bishop and Torres has evolved over the past few years, and that development has continued in season 17. In a recent episode of NCIS, Torres seemingly wrote a note to Bishop while being hypnotized. We still do not know what the note says, but fans are hoping it might relate his true feelings.
In light of what happened in the installment, Valderrama took to Instagram and dished about his character’s relationship with Bishop. When it comes to their dynamic, Valderrama revealed that he loves giving fans some humor, especially when the storyline gets dark — which it tends to do on NCIS.
According to Carter Matt, the NCIS star also revealed that he cherishes being able to play someone like Torres in the series, a character he views as a role model for people around the world.
The comment does not come as a huge shocker given Valderrama’s experience in television. Prior to landing a part on NCIS, the actor made a name for himself in the world of comedy on That 70’s Show.
This explains why he loves bringing a little humor to NCIS and mixing it with a heavy dose of action.
Did Torres write Bishop a love letter?
Although we do not know a lot about the content of the letter, there are a few things we can say for sure. For starters, the letter in question was clearly handwritten by Torres, albeit while he was in hypnosis.
Secondly, Bishop has refused to tell Torres what was in the letter, which means it could contain some sensitive information. That said, Bishop is hilariously taunting Torres with the letter, a move that seems to indicate whatever he wrote is a bit more lighthearted in nature.
More than likely, Bishop is just messing with Torres and there is probably nothing series inside the letter. Instead, it probably just contains an inside joke or something like his protein-packed grocery list.
There is also a chance that this whole storyline is an elaborate prank by Bishop and McGee (Sean Murray), both of whom would definitely jump at the chance of getting one over on Torres.
Whatever the truth is, we can only hope that NCIS reveals the contents of the letter soon. And even if the letter has nothing to do with romance, we still have a lot to look forward to in season 17.
NCIS executive producer dish on Torres and Bishop’s dynamic
Ahead of the season 17 premiere, NCIS executive producers Steven D. Binder and Frank Cardea opened up about Bishop’s relationship with Torres.
The producers revealed that they are not sure where they are taking the relationship, but they know that Torres and Bishop have grown close over the years.
The one thing stopping them from getting even closer is the dangerous nature of their job. All the members of the team understand that their job is extremely dangerous and that anything bad could happen at a moment’s notice.
This prevents a lot of them from developing a close bond and is one reason why there are not a whole lot of romances breaking out.
Valderrama recently echoed these sentiments and admitted that Torres might not be in a place where he can open up just yet. Torres still has a lot of walls up and will need to build trust before he starts anything romantic.
“It really is hard to say. I feel like Torres and Bishop had an understanding on a number of levels, and they are closest in age. I think that’s what made the fans look at this as a possibility,” Valderrama shared.
There is no telling if this will be the season when Torres shares his true feelings for Bishop, but we definitely hope so!
New episodes of NCIS air Tuesday nights on CBS.
