Donald Trump Jr. Tweets About Jussie Smollett Case: Attacks Media, Smollett Supporters
When news broke of a huge development in the Jussie Smollett hate attack case, with police revealing that new evidence suggested the Empire actor orchestrated the assault, there was plenty of discussion on Twitter.
Among the many comments, Donald Trump Jr. fired off a series of tweets, slamming Smollett, the media, and anyone who supported the actor.
New evidence emerges in Jussie Smollett attack case
Saturday evening, it was reported that the brothers who were arrested in connection with Smollett’s attack were now cooperating with police and were released without charges.
Smollett was attacked on January 29 in Chicago, as he claimed at the time that two men were “yelling out racial and homophobic slurs” at him. According to a statement, the men beat him and one of the attackers put a rope around his neck and poured bleach on the actor.

Jussie Smollett denies he was involved in staging the attack
Smollett’s attorneys released a statement in response, explaining that the actor was “angered and devastated by recent reports” that he had himself orchestrated the attack.
In part, their statement noted: “As a victim of a hate crime who has cooperated with the police investigation, Jussie Smollett is angered and devastated by recent reports that the perpetrators are individuals he is familiar with. He has now been further victimized by claims attributed to these alleged perpetrators that Jussie played a role in his own attack. Nothing is further from the truth and anyone claiming otherwise is lying.”
Donald Trump Jr. weighs in on new developments
Donald Trump Jr. went on a lengthy Twitter rant about the shift in Smollett’s case, as he had long believed the attack was staged.

The President’s son then took aim at the media and Smollett’s supporters, tweeting: “Despite all the obvious holes media/Hollywood desperately wanted it to be true to push their hate of conservatives. Looks like it’s not aging so well.’
He added: “Strange that no one in Hollywood or the Main Stream Media seems to want #JusticeForJussie anymore. Wonder what changed?”
Trump Jr. also pointed to his belief that the attack had been staged, remarking: “Remember boys and girls, it’s not a conspiracy when you’re right & with all the obvious holes it seemed logical to question this disgusting hoax. This didn’t age well at all!”
