Donald Trump Tried to Shame Kate Middleton for This

It’s no secret that the royal family isn’t a fan of President Donald Trump. In fact, Great Britain isn’t on the Trump train either as his visit this summer was marked with protests, petitions and a giant orange balloon featuring Trump in a diaper.

Trump’s comments throughout the years, but especially since he became president, has put him on the “do not invite” list at Buckingham Palace. He wasn’t invited to the royal wedding and he’s made disparaging remarks about just about every royal. His lewd comments may have started as far back as 1997 during an infamous Howard Stern interview. Only weeks after Princess Diana was killed in an automobile accident, Trump told Stern he could have slept with her, the Daily Beast reports.

Apparently, Trump gave Diana “the creeps” after Trump went overboard sending the princess massive bouquets of flowers. Trump then turned his attention to Kate Middleton. And what he said about Diana’s daughter-in-law went just too far.

Trump felt the need to comment on Middleton’s images

In 2012, paparazzi photographed Middleton sunbathing topless in France. The images were taken using a long-range lens and possibly from a public road, according to The Sun. The courts found that the photographers invaded Middleton’s privacy and the couple was awarded £94,000 in damages.

Although the couple’s privacy was invaded, Trump felt the need to comment and tweeted, “Kate Middleton is great–but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude–only herself to blame.”

He couldn’t help himself and tweeted again

Despite the obvious fact that the royal couple was on a private holiday, Trump felt the need to assert himself into the situation again. He took to Twitter shortly after firing off his first comments: “Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!”

Of course, Twitter users slammed him with comments. One user tweeted, “didn’t you get mad at cnn for using a picture of your face that you didn’t like.” And another responded with, “@realDonaldTrump Please tell me you’re joking. It’s called PRIVACY. She deserves it. Don’t cheer on these pitiful paparazzi’s!! #rude”

Then Trump blabbed about the images on Fox and Friends

He didn’t stop with Twitter (of course) and went on Fox and Friends to talk about it more, Newsweek reports. Again, he blamed Middleton for sunbathing topless, even though it was obvious her privacy was invaded. He said sunbathing topless was, “so stupid” and a “very, very foolish thing.” Obsessed much?

Middleton’s sister-in-law isn’t having it

Middleton’s sister-in-law Meghan Markle has been publicly supportive of the #metoo movement, Refinery 29 reports. “Right now, with so many campaigns like Me Too and Time’s Up,” she said. “There’s no better time to continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people supporting them.” Markle also supported 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

She also said this about Trump on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore in 2016. “Yes, of course, Trump is divisive, think about female voters alone, right? I think it was in 2012 the Republican Party lost the female vote by 12 points; that is a huge number and with as misogynistic as Trump is, and so vocal about it, that is a huge chunk of it.”
