‘Double Shot at Love’: Traditions Kept From ‘Jersey Shore’

Paul DelVecchio Jr., DJ Pauly D, and Vinny Guadagnino were first introduced to the world in 2009 with MTV reality show, Jersey Shore. They were once known for hooking up with girls all over Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Now, their bromance continues and they are back on “Jerzdays” looking for love with spinoff show, Double Shot at Love.

Pauly D wants a woman worth meeting his daughter, and Vinny wants to find someone who is truly his perfect match. Even though the bachelors are no longer in the Shore House, there are still traditions they keep in the Double Shot at Love mansion.

Pauly D and Vinny Were Pranksters In Jersey Shore

Pauly D and Vinny always remained lax in the Jersey Shore house and often thought it was a great idea to settle problems by pranking people. Who could forget them replacing Deena’s pictures and starting a massive water balloon fight?

Because Pauly D and Vinny love pranks, they want their lady to be able to take a joke. They chose to begin Double Shot at Love with a massive twist; Vinny first introduced himself to the girls as the host and told them they would be dating Pauly D. The next day, Pauly D told a different group of girls he was the host and introduced Vinny as the lucky bachelor. Then, they brought all the girls together and informed the ladies they would all be competing against each other for Pauly D and Vinny’s affection.

‘Cabs are here!’ has a new meaning

One of Pauly D’s popular catchphrases from Jersey Shore included, “cabs are here!” He would yell this, in various voices, to his roommates when the cabs arrived to take them to the club. However, on Double Shot at Love, when Pauly D tells a contestant her cab is here, it means she has been eliminated from the show.

Pauly D and Vinny Frequent the Boardwalk on Jersey Shore

The boardwalk was a staple on MTV’s Jersey Shore and the roommates worked at a local shop called the “Store Shore.” From Snooki getting punched in the face by a man at a boardwalk bar to Ronnie knocking a guy out while walking home with “one punch!” to Snooki infamously running along the boardwalk yelling “Where’s the beach?,” the boardwalk is forever cemented in reality TV show history.

On episode four, Pauly D and Vinny brought the boardwalk to the girls in California. Thankfully, there were no boardwalk blowouts but they enjoyed classic boardwalk games and won a few gifts while Vinny made a new connection. The group also went on carnival rides including the Scrambler, and Pauly D shared a romantic kiss on the Ferris wheel.

On Double Shot at Love, Pauly D and Vinny are looking for love while staying true to their Jersey Shore core.
