Which Drag Queens Will Be at the ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!’ Las Vegas Residency?

Start your engines, Drag Race fans. There’s a new and exciting opportunity for fans living in or visiting Las Vegas. At RuPaul’s DragCon in New York City, the drag performer gave a special announcement; for the first time ever, the series would have a Las Vegas residency. At RuPaul’s DragCon, RuPaul announced that the ‘Drag Race’ queens would take their reality show on the road

You’ve never seen RuPaul’s Drag Race like this. During DragCon in New York City, RuPaul announced that upcoming live performances in Las Vegas will feature contestants on VH1’s reality competition series. World of Wonder will produce these live performances, along with Voss Events. For an extra touch of Drag Race magic, RuPaul and Aladdin, Step Up, When The Beat Drops’ Jamal Sims will direct. 

RuPaul’s Drag Race has become an international phenomenon, as have the fan viewing parties that take place all over the world. The RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! Las Vegas residency show will immerse audiences in that experience in the most interactive way possible. With original music, world-class performances by America’s favorite queens, and all of the self-awareness and attitude of the television show, RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! will leave audiences wanting more!” said show co-producers Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey of World of Wonder. Fans are already excited to see some of their favorite Drag Race contestants in a new light, on a bigger stage.

Which queens will be sashaying away to ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Live’? 

According to a press release, seven queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race will be featured in a rotating cast. Among the queens to be featured are season 10 winner, Aquaria and season 11 winner, Yvie Oddly. Others drag queens making an appearance include Asia O’Hara, Coco Montrese, Derrick Barry, Eureka O’Hara, India Ferrah, Kahanna Montrese, Kameron Michaels, Kim Chi, Naomi Smalls, Shannel, and Shea Couleé.

This residency is not the first time queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race appeared in a live stage production. Season 9 contestant, Peppermint, made her debut on Broadway. Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova performed their adaptation of Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion. However, this will be the first time a RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant had their own Las Vegas residency. 

When does ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!’ come to Las Vegas?

The first performance of this live show won’t come until 2020. However, tickets will be available starting this September. Performances will take place at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. Until then, fans (and RuPaul) are excited for this new addition of RuPaul’s Drag Race content. 

RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! is an immersive, interactive thrill-ride for everyone who loves to laugh, dance and sing-along when a fabulous drag queen shakes her padded ass on stage,” said RuPaul.

According to a press release, RuPaul’s Drag Race Live! will perform on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 9:30 pm, starting in January 2020.
