Start Your Engines, ‘Drag Race’ Fans — We Finally Have a Date for ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5’

There’s plenty of charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent sashaying back into the Werk Room. Again. In just a few weeks, Drag Race fans can watch the premiere of All-Stars 5. When does RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5 premiere? Which network will it debut on? Here’s what we know about the upcoming episodes of this spinoff series.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5’ premieres on June 5

Start your engines, Drag Race, fans, because it’s finally All-Stars season. This season of RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars proves to have many twists, turns, twirls, and death drops. In fact, RuPaul shared that from now on, All-Stars rules are officially suspended.

“For All-Stars 5, we’ve come up with a new twist that is so twisted it’s guaranteed to twist your twisted minds,” RuPaul said in a statement according to Out Magazine. The queens looking to snatch the trophy this season are Shea Couleé, Miz Cracker, Alexis Mateo, Blair St Clair, Mariah Balenciaga, India Ferrah, Derrick Barry, Mayhem Miller, Jujubee, and Ongina.

Only one, however, will be inducted into the “Drag Race Hall of Fame,” joining winners Chad Michaels, Alaska 5000, Trixie Mattel, Trinity The Tuck, and Monét X Change. The first episode of this season premieres on June 5, exclusively on the television network, VH1.

There was a ‘special’ season of ‘All-Stars’ originally set for a Showtime premiere

A few months prior to the cast announcement, RuPaul shared that the spinoff would make the switch to the premium television network, Showtime. This would be the first time it appeared on this network, although it did switch from Logo to VH1 a few years prior.

RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars is a culture-defining show that fits perfectly within the contemporary programming Showtime offers in both scripted and unscripted,” said Jana Winograde, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc. “We are excited to take advantage of our relationship with our new sister company VH1 to present a special edition of this sensational series and bring in this passionate and robust fanbase.”

“It’s the latest example of how we can leverage our combined portfolio to provide new experiences for our audience,” the statement continues. However, RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5 will, reportedly, premiere on VH1, as had season 12 and the newest spinoff show, RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race.

Some drag contestants returned for ‘RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race’

This wouldn’t be the first Drag Race-related spinoff series premiering on VH1. Earlier this year, RuPaul premiered the first-ever season of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race, inviting back alumni to act as drag mothers and mentors to public figures during the competition. There’s also RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, which premieres after new episodes of season 12.

Episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race are available for binge-watching on VH1.com, while some episodes of the spinoff series, Untucked, are available on World of Wonder’s YouTube channel. Until RuPaul’s Drag Race: All-Stars 5 debuts on VH1, fans can watch episodes of season 12, which premiere on a weekly basis on VH1.
