‘Drag Race UK’ Renewed for its Second Season

God save the queens! Even with the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s first season looming in the distance, RuPaul shared an announcement with fans across the globe. The spin-off television series has been renewed for its second season. Is casting still open? How many seasons will RuPaul produce of Drag Race UK? Here’s what we know about this reality television series.

The finale of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ season 1 takes place on Nov. 20, 2019

It’s been about a month since fans met the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 1. For some, this series has been life-changing. That includes contestant Cheryl Hole, who even lip-synced in front of Cheryl to one of her songs.

“I think it’s just going to shine a light even more on local talent and the people that haven’t had the opportunity yet because this cast is small,” Cheryl Hole said during an interview with Gay Times. “It’s only 10 queens, which gives more opportunity for several more seasons to showcase UK talent. I think more people are going to watch the show, get inspired, want to do drag more and then it’s just going to influx, rise and shine a light on British drag in the most positive way.”

With the finale premiering later this November, some fans are wondering what’s next for this spin-off series of the Emmy-award winning reality series, RuPaul’s Drag Race. Thankfully, RuPaul has an answer. With the success of this recently released BBC television show, it’s only natural that RuPaul’s Drag Race UK was renewed for a second season.
