‘DWTS’: Alan Bersten Wants To Win The Mirrorball Trophy For Hannah Brown, Not Himself
Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten have been working very hard this season on Dancing With The Stars. The road to where they are today hasn’t always been an easy one. In fact, Brown’s been quite open about the struggles she’s experienced since she began competing.
Alan Bersten and Hannah Brown worked through their communication issues
Something Brown said she felt she and Bersten needed to work on when they first started dancing together was communication.
“Hearing 5, 6, 7, 8, Hannah, hips! — not that Alan’s trying to yell at me — it hurts. I’m not trying to take it personally, but I’m really sensitive today. It’s not really something that I think Alan deals with and understands, and I don’t think I would understand it if I didn’t struggle with depression and anxiety,” she wrote in her week four DWTS diary for Bustle.
“I knew I could have done better, but I was more just scared to hear what he had to say about it being bad, and that’s not good. He’s actually really nice, but he doesn’t always build my confidence. I think he really realized that after the last pass doing camera blocking,” she wrote of the week four blocking rehearsal.
Thankfully, Brown says she and Bersten are communicating much better these days.
“I’m really proud of Alan for doing whatever it takes me to teach me the best, even if it’s different than the way he’s taught people before. It really shows that he’s trying to work with me. I’m trying to not be as sensitive when he is just so passionate, and I just have to know that’s just how Alan is. I’m proud of both of us for learning how to communicate better with each other,” she wrote in her week eight DWTS diary.
Alan Bersten is so proud of Hannah Brown and wants her to win the Mirrorball Trophy
Bersten and Brown have grown close through their weeks of competing together. Bersten has said on numerous occasions how incredibly proud he is of his partner.
In Bersten’s most recent DWTS blog for Entertainment Tonight, he continued to gush about the reality TV star.
“I would love to win the mirrorball, but honestly, I just want Hannah to win it. I want Hannah to feel good about every performance and I want her to realize she is the reason we’re even in the semifinals. Her hard work, dedication and amazing personality is why we’re still here. I’m just so proud of her,” he shared.
Though Bersten is beaming with pride for Brown, he’s also plenty proud of his fellow dance pros.
“I’m so proud of Gleb Savchenko, Sasha Farber, Witney Carson and Emma Slater. Along with all the other pros this season. This has been an incredible season and everyone has done so well,” he said.
No matter how the season ends for Bersten and Brown, they should feel so proud at how hard they’ve worked. They continue to leave–not little pieces but–chunks of themselves on the dance floor each Monday night, and it’s been a joy to watch.
