It might not have been Hannah Brown’s year for love, but it’s definitely been her year for everything else. After breaking things off with her ex-finacè, Jed Wyatt, and becoming the most popular lead in Bachelorette history, she is now competing for the famed mirrorball on Dancing with the Stars. On November 10, 2019, Brown scored another huge win when she took home the People’s Choice Award for Competition Contestant of 2019. Hannah Brown won a PCA

Taking the stage, the Dancing with the Stars contestant launched into a speech about the power of vulnerability. “Well, this is weird, but thank you all so much. This award means a lot to me because it just affirms that it’s ok to be vulnerable and put your heart out there and that people receive and give that love back and that everyone who supported and loved me through this crazy, amazing year. Like how is this happening to me? I was just a girl from Alabama. Thank you for allowing me to just be that girl from Alabama and to shine my light. This is awesome. Roll tide,” Brown said to the crowd.

Following her big win, Brown took to her Instagram page to thank her 2.5 million supporters that follow her on the popular app. “I’m cheesin’ real hard because I love you—and you guys love me back! Thank you all for supporting me through the crazy of this year. We won,” The Dancing with the Stars contestant shared. Of course, Bachelor Nation was quick to congratulate the former Bachelorette on her win. “You deserve it!!!” Kaitlyn Bristowe a fellow Bachelorette commented on the post. “Well done, congrats on the big win,” Chris Harrison, host of all of the Bachelor franchise shows wrote.

Shoutouts from Bachelor alums and her Dancing with the Stars partner

Two of Brown’s exes also made sure to extend their congratulations to Brown. “Congrats on all the greatness, amazing!” Mike Johnson penned. “Congrats! Well deserved!” Connor Saeli wrote. But, Bachelor alums weren’t the only ones to show Brown love and support. Her Dancing with the Stars partner, Alan Berstein, was quick to congratulate her with a shoutout. Brown even shared a sweet congratulatory text message that her father sent her. “I am so proud of you! You are so beautiful and smart and you won this great award! Yes, now you can say you are officially a STAR! I am so happy for you, I love you,” Brown’s dad wrote.

Awkward celebrity run-ins

The Dancing with the Stars contender might be becoming a star in her own right, but she still gets star stuck quite easily. Following her People’s Choice Award win, she took to her Instagram story page to talk about three different awkward run-ins that she had on November 10, 2019, at the awards show. “I also won the 2019 most awkward person award when I introduced myself to Pink, then again with Jimmy Fallon, and then again with Adam Sandler,” Brown began, poking fun at herself.

“I told Adam Sandler that if he was able to let me meet Jennifer Aniston I would sign whatever. I would sign my soul —not really. It was the weirdest thing so I just had a like…exorcism come over me of just being the biggest weirdo ever but it was still cool. It still happened…so woo,” the Dancing with the Stars contestant rambled. Honestly, we reckon most people would have had a similar reaction in Brown’s situation. That’s likely why so many people resonate with her. Because despite her increasing fame, she remains normal and humble. We wish her all the best as she continues her quest for the mirrorball trophy.
