‘Game of Thrones’: The 1 Thing Emilia Clarke Tried to Take Home With Her From the Set
Emilia Clarke, known for her portrayal of the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryen, made quite a name for herself on the hit HBO series. Fans will always remember Dany as the woman who changed the Game of Thrones world forever with her three dragons. Clarke recently revealed that she wasn’t able to take home the one thing from the set that she wanted to keep.
What did Emilia Clarke want to take with her from the set?
Access talked with Clarke ahead of the Emmy Awards ceremony and the reunion with her castmates. She was asked if she tried to take anything from the set, and she revealed a lot of people have asked her that question before. She did, however, admit that she tried to take home one of her famous wigs.
“I was like, ‘Pretty please, can I have a wig?’ Because that’s my thing, it’s my hair,” she explained. “They were like, ‘Yeah, sure, maybe.’ I have not seen the wig. We wrapped, like, a year and a half ago. I’m waiting for my wig.”
What’s the 1 thing Emilia Clarke won’t miss?
Clarke also revealed that there was one thing she wouldn’t miss: the dreaded corset she was forced to wear. She joked around about how constricting is was. “I won’t miss the corset though, no. I didn’t like the corset. The corset didn’t like me. I was in there for sure,” Clarke joked.
Did Clarke win an Emmy Award?
Unfortunately for the former Queen, she didn’t win an Emmy Award. This was Clarke’s final shot at it for her work on Game of Thrones. She was upstaged for Outstanding Lead Actress by Jodie Comer’s work in Killing Eve. Fans were clearly upset over the snub and made their thoughts known on social media. Clarke still appears to have had a wonderful time reuniting with her former co-stars on the series.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ cast reunited at the Emmy Awards
The Emmy Awards were full of Game of Thrones family reunions. The largest happened on stage with all of the nominated members appearing to thank the fans themselves. They also presented the award for limited series and movies.
“I think all of us agree how amazing the entire last season was for us,” Turner said while on stage. “We had no idea how it would end, who would betray who, and who would end up with the prize.”
Fans were totally here for the reunion, and thanks to Alfie Allen, who played Theon Greyjoy, the memories were captured like no other. Backstage, Allen and the rest of the nominated members posed for a unique selfie which he posted to his Instagram Story. He also took a picture with Masie Williams, who played Arya Stark, and then one with Gwendoline Christie, who played Brienne of Tarth, as well.
The final season of Game of Thrones was extremely controversial. Fans were understandably upset when Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, killed Daenerys Targaryen. Fans talked about how it all played out for months after and still can’t believe it ended the way it did. At least viewers were able to see a good majority of the cast get together one last time at the Emmy Awards.
