Enola Holmes is Partridge’s biggest role to date, but with all the attention he’s getting, that could easily change. He is slated to play Peter Pan in the upcoming British film, The Lost Girls, which will premiere in 2021.

Louis Partridge plays Lord Tewkesbury in ‘Enola Holmes’

In Enola Holmes, Partridge takes on the role of Lord Viscount Tewkewsbury, aka Tewky —  the wealthy heir of the Duke of Basilwether who befriends Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) after running away from home. In an interview with Miss Vogue, the actor revealed that he was still studying for his GCSEs when he auditioned for the Netflix movie.

“The whole audition process happened when I was revising, and I was very much more into focusing on the auditions than the exams,” Partridge said. “I was straight into filming once the exams were done.”

His portrayal of Lord Tewkesbury looked effortless, and there’s a good reason for that. Partridge revealed that he ended up adding a lot of his own personality into the cheeky character.

“It was quite natural to me,” he noted. “There’s a bit of me in that character, probably a bit too much. It was brilliant to properly sit down and try to take a character off the page, as that wasn’t something I had done before. We brought warmth to him.”

The ‘Enola Holmes’ star credits Millie Bobby Brown for her help

Partridge may be a relative newcomer, but his young co-star and producer, Millie Bobby Brown, is already a seasoned actress. When talking to GMA, he credited the Stranger Things star for helping him bring his character to life. And he noted that he hadn’t seen her Netflix series when he met her.

“I haven’t seen Stranger Things, which helped me because I didn’t see her as Eleven,” Partridge said.  “I quite liked it that way. I wasn’t quite nervous to meet her which made it easier … it was quite easy because she’s not in any way entitled or anything. It was really easy to build a relationship with her.”

In a recent Instagram post, Partridge shared his excitement for the Enola Holmes premiere. And he also gave a heartfelt shout out to Brown.

“It’s still so surreal that I’m a part of this project, it wasn’t long ago that I was working as an extra or finding out my scene had been cut from Paddington 2 but it’s all part of the process,” he captioned the Instagram post. “Thanks to Millie and everyone who believed in me, I hope you enjoy the film and appreciate how much we put into it, let’s have it!! – Tewks.”
