Erin Krakow Confirms That Filming Has Started for ‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 7

Filming for a new season of When Calls the Heart is underway, star Erin Krakow confirmed in an August 27 Instagram post. The popular Hallmark Channel period drama was renewed for a seventh season in April. A premiere date hasn’t been announced, but new episodes typically begin airing in February.

Erin Krakow says she’s happy to be back in Hope Valley

Krakow, who plays schoolteacher Elizabeth Thornton on the show, took to Instagram to share the update with Hearties.

“Filming of @wcth_tv Season 7 has officially begun! So happy to be back in Hope Valley! 💕” she wrote.

Krakow has appeared on When Calls the Heart since it premiered in 2014.

Andrea Brooks also shared an update

Krakow wasn’t the only When Calls the Heart cast member sharing updates from the set. Andrea Brooks, who portrays nurse Faith Carter, shared a selfie from inside her trailer with the caption, “Bring your bump to work day!” The 30-year-old actress is expecting her first child before the end of 2019.

Will Brooks’ baby bump make an onscreen appearance in the new season? Fans will have to wait to find out, she told ET in July.

“[E]veryone at Hallmark has been wonderful and supportive,” she said. “I think it would be neat to integrate an actual pregnancy into a character’s storyline, but that is ultimately not up to me. There are many creative ways to deal with pregnancy while shooting.”

Paul Greene shares one of his favorite things about working on ‘When Calls the Heart’

Paul Greene plays Brooks’ onscreen love interest Dr. Carson Shepherd. He also seems excited to get back to work, though the co-star he might be most fond of is of the non-human variety.

“Do you like horses ?,” he asked on Instagram. “One of my favorite things about our set is the horses. The people are ok.😉 Day 1 back in Hope valley.”

Jack Wagner promises the new season will be better than ever

Jack Wagner (Bill Avery) posted a video from an airport gate area as he waited to board his flight to Canada, where When Calls the Heart is filmed.

“Heading up to Vancouver for season 7 of When Calls the Heart,” he said. “I’m beyond excited, grateful, and just a big shout out to all of you for the love and support. I promise this season is going to be more fun and more exciting with more romance and more drama and more comedy than ever before.”

Former star Lori Loughlin was checking in from a very different location

As the When Calls the Heart cast gathered on set in Canada, former star Lori Loughlin was noticeably absent. The actress was fired from the show in March after her alleged involvement in a college admissions bribery scandal became public. This week, as her ex-co-workers went back to work, she was in court in Boston for a hearing related to the case.

Loughlin is keeping a low profile amid the scandal, but she does have the support of some of her friends. Her Full House co-star John Stamos has said he’s not even sure if the actress who played his TV wife even committed a crime. And Krakow has also indicated she’s standing by Loughlin, calling her a “forever friend” in a recent Instagram post.
