Alanna Ubach plays Suze Howard in Euphoria, but the actor will star in another HBO show — The Flight Attendant. Based on the Chris Bohjalian book of the same name, the Kaley Cuoco-led series will be back on Apr. 21 in the United States. Here’s what we know about Ubach’s role in The Flight Attendant Season 2.

Alanna Ubach’s ‘Euphoria’ role is based on a friend’s mom

Suze, Lexi and Cassie’s (Maude Apatow, Sydney Sweeney) mother, quickly became a fan favorite after Ubach’s portrayal of her in Euphoria Season 2. The high-functioning alcoholic isn’t a regular mom — she’s the kind that boozes with her underage daughters at their birthday parties.

According to Ubach, her character portrayal is based on a friend’s mother, Linda Morales. “She was the one you went to when you got pregnant [or] you were kicked out of school,” Ubach told Vulture. “No one was afraid of her. I thought, ‘Wouldn’t that be fun to live in her for a while?'”

The ‘Euphoria’ actor previously auditioned for Rosie Perez’s role in ‘The Flight Attendant’

In her conversation with Vulture, Ubach also opened up about working with Cuoco on the second season of The Flight Attendant. “Kaley Cuoco is so sweet,” said Ubach. “She and I have really good juju.”

The duo previously worked together on Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, a children’s cartoon. Ubach was cast as a boa constrictor while Cuoco played a bunny. “She and I had such a party for a good year.”

As Ubach explained, they reconnected when she auditioned for the first season of The Flight Attendant. “I was up for Rosie Perez’s role,” Ubach said. Perez plays Megan, Cassie’s colleague and overly aggressive friend who finds herself selling national secrets to North Korea.

“I thought, ‘Well, of course. They got Rosie Perez,'” Ubach elaborated. “Sure, I’ll step aside.” But her audition from season 1 served her well because showrunners called her back for season 2.

‘The Flight Attendant’ Season 2 will feature Alanna Ubach ‘out of her f***ing mind’

As Ubach revealed to Vulture, showrunners remembered her from her season 1 audition. “They offered me this role, and it’s very sweet,” said Ubach. “It’s [Cassie’s] nemesis.” As she explained it, the role is another flight attendant colleague of Cassie’s who is “out of [her] f***ing mind — it’s fantastic.”

Also new in The Flight Attendant Season 2 is Sharon Stone. She plays Cassie’s mom, a woman lacking “any patience or goodwill to offer her daughter after a lifetime of dealing with her alcoholism” (via Entertainment Weekly). Stone and Ubach join the talented cast of The Flight Attendant, including Cuoco, Perez, and Girls star Zosia Mamet, who plays Cassie’s lawyer bestie Annie, and T.R. Knight, who plays Cassie’s brother Davey.

‘The Flight Attendant’ Season 2 puts Cassie in a new role with the CIA

At the end of The Flight Attendant Season 1, Cassie learns her flight attendant colleague Shane (Griffin Matthews) is an undercover agent. Season 2 picks up a year after the events in season 1 with Cassie moonlighting as an asset to the CIA who reports to Benjamin Berry (Mo McRae).
