When Prince Harry was on Radio 4’s Today program, he gushed about what a lovely first Christmas he and Markle enjoyed with the royal family. He said she fit right in and that the royal family was quickly becoming the family she never had.

Thomas Jr., Markle’s half-brother, heard about Harry’s statement and gave his own response to the Daily Mail: “It was just a little shocking because Meghan had an amazing, amazing childhood growing up and she had a lot of family.”

According to In Touch, Thomas Jr. reportedly asked Markle for help after an altercation he had with his fiancée. He said the fight happened because of all the pressure he was feeling thanks to the royal engagement.

When Markle didn’t help her half-brother out, he said it was a “slap in the face.”

Samantha Grant isn’t a stranger to speaking up (and out) about her royal half-sister. She’s repeatedly told the media that Markle could and should have helped her family out in their times of need.

She’s also tweeted to Prince Harry asking him to encourage her to talk to her family. According to Good Housekeeping, she says Harry “allows Meghan to ignore” the Markles.

Next: Grant’s even writing a book about being Markle’s half-sister.

4. Grant’s book calls Markle ‘pushy’

Grant is also planning on releasing a memoir titled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister. She’s been adamant in saying the book is meant to honor her half-sister, but we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves.

“The title is a mockery of the media,” she told the Daily Mail. “It wasn’t me who called Meg ‘pushy.’ It was the tabloid newspapers.”

Those close to Markle and us following along at home were waiting on pins and needles to learn Thomas Sr.’s reaction to his daughter’s royal engagement, because he’s known as a bit of a recluse. Upon Markle’s engagement, he and Markle’s mother released a statement saying how happy they were for their daughter.

Sadly, he didn’t end up attending the royal wedding though after struggling with health issues.

Dooley and her son, Tyler, were interviewed on Good Morning Britain about Markle’s engagement. Though she acknowledged that she knew she wouldn’t be invited, she still expressed happiness for the new royal.

“I don’t think we are going to get the invitations–and that’s fine,” said Dooley. “We’re okay with that. We’re still supporting her on. We’re so proud of her.”

Out of everyone in Markle’s family, her mother seems to get along with the royals the best. She’s very close with her mother, as she stayed with her when her parents got divorced when she was six. Though Ragland’s pretty quiet when it comes to speaking to the media, she’s been seen at a few events with Markle since the news broke.

Harry, particularly, is very fond of Ragland. “Her mum’s amazing,” he said during their first interview after the engagement.
