The tour will be promoting her first studio album
Billie Eilish’s first studio album, WHEN WE FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? was extremely successful upon its release. The A.V. Club called the album one of the best of 2019 so far. After being released in March 2019, the album quickly reached the No. 1 spot in the Billboard 200 chart, while the single “bad guy” stole the No. 1 spotlight from Lil Nas X’s groundbreaking hit “Old Town Road” on the Billboard Hot 100 in August.
With the success of her first studio album, Billie Eilish broke many records in music history, such as being the first artist born in the 2000s and the youngest female to have a number one single at age 17. In fact, the majority of Eilish’s tracks from WHEN WE FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? made it on Billboard’s Hot 100.
Eilish planned for her first studio album to have influences from all genres, from songs that Eilish described in an interview with Billboard as “that’s so fun to be in the moment at a show to” or music “that’s crazy and also depressing.”
Roughly six months after the release of her debut album, Billie Eilish took to Twitter and Instagram to announce dates for the album’s promotional tour, which will launch in 2020.
