The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards airs on June 18 and we’ll get to see who is taking what home and many funny jokes from the host, Tiffany Haddish. But the actual award show took place on Saturday, June 16 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California so we know a little about what to expect. Here is everything to know about this year’s award show.

Tiffany Haddish is hosting

Since Tiffany Haddish became a star through her performance in Girl’s Trip, many have been hoping she would host an award show. She might have helped announce nominations for the Academy Awards but now she is fully hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

She also earned nominations for “Best Comedic Performance” and “Scene Stealer” for her work this year.

There are some crazy celebrity looks 

Of course, celebrities came to the award show again this year with some different looks. One that created some buzz was Kim Kardashian West who wore her hair in cornrows for the event.

Nick Jonas, Mustard, and Chloe x Halle are performing

Nick Jonas and Mustard are reportedly performing their song, “Anywhere” together. Chloe x Halle is also performing a medley of “The Kids Are Alright” and “Warrior.”

Multiple stars are presenting awards

You will reportedly see Michael B. Jordan, Mila Kunis, Seth Rogen, Gina Rodriguez, Kristen Bell, Zendaya, Common, and more presenting awards throughout the night.

Chris Pratt and Lena Waithe are accepting special awards

There are two celebrities who will receive honors tonight. Chris Pratt will receive the Generation Award and Lena Waithe will receive the Trailblazer Award.

There are no long gender specific awards

The award show has been updated to no longer have gender-specific acting categories. So men, women, and non-binary nominees will be competing against each other.

Black Panther has many nominations

There is a good chance that the hit Marvel movie will be walking away with a lot of awards. It is the most nominated movie with seven nominations.

Farrah Abraham will be in attendance shortly after her arrest

The former Teen Mom star showed up on the red carpet of the award show three days after her release from jail. Farrah Abraham was arrested on Wednesday after reportedly having an altercation with a Beverly Hills Hotel employee, according to People. The Beverly Hills Police Department said it went to the hotel “for a report of a disturbance inside the hotel restaurant.”

Abraham reportedly didn’t say anything at the event about the incident but she made a post with a caption on Instagram about it. “Happy it’s all recorded and documented as I should never feel unsafe and be targeted at a hotel I’m staying at The Beverly Hills hotel truly allowed misconduct by staff to a paying guest there’s no need for me or anyone else to be treated this way,” she wrote.
