Ryan Phillippe is being accused of assault by his former girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, who filed a civil suit on Monday. Phillippe denied the accusations, which claim the actor kicked and punched her, and threw her down the stairs after an argument on July 4.
In court documents, Hewitt claimed Phillippe had left a party after being ignored by Hewitt on July 3, and that a physical altercation took place the following day after she arrived at Phillippe’s house to pack up her things. Phillippe – father of two children with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon and one with ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp – denied the charges.
Hewitt took to Instagram Monday, where she has 400,000 followers, to share some thoughts regarding the situation.
we spend a lot of time on here showing our happiest moments and it's easy to assume someone's life is perfect. everyone's fighting their own battles that they understandably choose not to share. sometimes it's crazy to me that people show interest in me/my life when I've shared so much more of what I'm doing and how I look as opposed to who I really am. I'm a very private person but there are some tribulations I've been facing recently so I wanted to say thank u guys for your love, thank you to those who have been there for me, and thank you for those in my life who haven't, for teaching me a good lesson. I think it's important to feel all your feelings, both happy and sad in order to overcome and to grow stronger. everyone is on their own path and has their own pain. always get back up, keep trying and stand up for yourself and what you believe in. i'll keep working hard and working on lifting my spirits and if anything, just take this as a positive reminder to be the best and kindest you can be in a struggling world full of enough suffering and hatred. i love u

As for Phillippe’s reaction, People quoted a source close to the 43-year-old actor as saying, “Ryan did not lay a hand on her – he wants to clear all of this up and he will.”
Career-wise Phillippe’s 21-year-old ex has done one or more modeling campaigns for Guess, which she featured glimpses of on Instagram in August.
Hewitt has also modeled for Playboy, having been named the magazine’s “Miss June 2017.” This information was filed in court documents. She shared a photo from the Playboy shoot on Instagram in June.
Other than modeling, Hewitt has also tried her hand at acting, appearing in 20145 film Mostly Ghostly: Have You Met My Ghoulfriend? and 2013 music video “Underwater” with Garrett Lodge. The digital company Brat has announced that Hewitt would appear in its teen soap “Turnt,” which is about romance in the digital media age.
