Exclusive: Former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher Shares the Hardest Part About Postponing Her Wedding
Former bachelorette JoJo Fletcher and her season winner Jordan Rodgers have been engaged for four years. The couple was supposed to tie the knot on June 13, 2020, but due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, they postponed.
“6.13.20 … Happy ‘What would have been Wedding Day’ to us! ☺️ As you guys know, we have spent the last 11 months planning the wedding of our dreams but given the circumstances of 2020, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone our special day,” JoJo wrote on Instagram.
JoJo Fletcher on postponing her and Jordan Rodger’s wedding
When Showbiz Cheat Sheet spoke to JoJo she was disappointed in having to postpone their big day, but maintained, as is characteristic of the former bachelorette, a positive mindset about the situation.
“Honestly, Jordan and I have a really good outlook on this. We weren’t sure how 2020 was going to go so we waited, I think, as long as we could. But, of course, it’s a bummer. We’ve been engaged for four years. So I feel like we’ve waited our due time. So we were really looking forward to the wedding,” she said.
Ultimately, JoJo and Jordan wanted to ensure the safety of their friends and family.
“We both came to the conclusion that we want our wedding to be exactly how we planned it. We’ve waited this long. We’re OK to wait a little bit longer. It’ll be better, not only for us but for our guests. We want to make sure everyone’s feeling safe and healthy and comfortable,” she said.
The hardest part about postponing, for JoJo, was all the build-up leading up to the big day.
“Hopefully by next year, 2021, we’ll be in the clear. But, honestly, it’s just that build-up to the big day and not getting to have it. But we’re totally at peace with it now,” she said.
What JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers have been up to in quarantine
During their downtime, JoJo and Jordan have been working on the house they recently moved into. JoJo fans know the Cash Pad host knows her way around a renovation.
“It’s been nice to focus on something positive that’s really rewarding,” she said. “And the good thing is [Jordan] loves doing it, too, so it’s something that we get to do together.”
JoJo recently partnered with KILZ Primer to give one DIYer $5,000 in e-gift cards to tackle a project they’ve had their eye on. The winner will also get to meet JoJo virtually to get her advice and inspiration on their project. 10 additional winners will receive a $500 e-gift card to tackle their own projects.
“Any paint job, prep is so important. Starting with a primer is going to give you a long-lasting finish and durability. It helps transition paint jobs from dark to light. It blocks stains. So a lot of uses for primer. I always tell people: Never skip this step,” said JoJo.
The Cash Pad host fully believes absolutely everyone can be a DIYer if they set their mind to it.
“If you prepare and are committed to finishing, you can absolutely do anything,” she said.
