Fall Out Boy Is Going On Tour With 2 Other Big ’00s Pop-Punk Bands
Attention Millennials: Your favorite bands from the early ’00s are going on tour together. What’s more, they’re releasing new music. Here’s a look at the upcoming resurgence of Fall Out Boy, as well as who they’re touring with, and how you can attend.
Fall Out Boy rose to prominence in the early ’00s
OK, let’s take a trip back in time really quickly. It was 16 years ago that Fall Out Boy put out their first album Take This to Your Grave. And just two years later, they began to make major waves with their followup, From Under the Cork Tree. And that’s where it all really began for the group.
There were the One Tree Hill years (remember how Pete Wentz dated Peyton?), a whole host of Grammy nods, and, naturally, a shift from Warped Tour to sold-out stadiums. But those times came to an end around the turn of the decade.
What has the band been up to recently?
After a brief hiatus, Fall Out Boy got back together and continued to make music, though not with the same level of mainstream popularity as prior to their break.
So what has Fall Out Boy been up to for the past few years? Well, they put out their fifth, sixth, and seventh albums, all of which did very well in record sales and even earned them a few award nominations. But this next event is poised to be their biggest yet.
Fall Out Boy’s new song and tour
Fall Out Boy has been keeping relatively quiet this year, and now we know why. The band has released a new song, titled “Dear Future Self (Hands Up)” ft. Wyclef Jean. Check out the video above.
Along with the song came the announcement that there was a new tour beginning: The Hella Maga Tour. And it features some very special guests: Weezer and Green Day.
Weezer and Green Day’s new music
All of the bands decided to release new music in order to get fans excited about the upcoming tour. Weezer put out a new song, “The End of the Game,” which is off their upcoming album, Van Weezer. This will be the band’s 14th album.
Meanwhile, Green Day released the audio for the title track off their upcoming 2020 album, Father Of All… Green Day hasn’t put out new music since 2016’s Revolution Radio, so this is marks a major return for them.
Hella Mega tour dates and cities
If you were a fan of any of these bands in their heyday, you’re definitely going to be on board for this venture. All of these new songs sound great, and we have a feeling this is going to be a tour to remember. So, what are the dates for it?
The Hella Mega tour with all three bands together begins in Paris, France on June 13, 2020. The rest of the month is spent in Europe and the U.K. The U.S. leg kicks off on July 17, 2020 in Seattle, WA, and travel from West to East, ending in Philadelphia, PA, on Aug. 29, 2020.
