Fans Are Dragging Kristin Cavallari For Her Insensitive 9/11 Tribute
Kristin Cavallari hasn’t been one to receive a ton of backlash over the years, however, her recent September 11 tribute isn’t going over too well with fans.
Fans are claiming Cavallari was marketing herself instead of paying tribute
Over the years, many of us have seen our fair share of celebrities receive major backlash for social media posts and the latest victim happens to be Kristin Cavallari.
The reality star is being currently dragged for posting a photo of herself wearing a low-cut black dress and a pair of strappy pumps in New York City on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
She captioned her post, “NYC for 24hrs. And what a time to be here…always remember.”
While Cavallari most likely didn’t see anything wrong tribute, fans immediately began slamming the Uncommon James designer for being “disrespectful” and not really honoring the 18-year anniversary.
“Let me show off my body and then make a half a** remark about 911. WTF,” one person wrote.
“This is super insensitive,” another commenter wrote before someone else added, “I love you and think that you are generally spot-on in the things that you choose to present, but this is just disrespectful and undermining to the magnitude of the events that occurred on that horrific day.”
“This is just disrespectful and undermining to the magnitude of the events that occurred on that horrific day,” another user commented.
One person even questioned the intent of Cavallari’s caption by asking, “Sorry…did you want us not to forget about the dress or the significance of September 11th?”
Though the reality star continued to take the heat from fans, friends and fellow celebrities immediately came to her defense.
“People questioning your outfit in this photo is what is wrong with our country. you were working today. that was your outfit. you posted a pic and asked everyone to REMEMBER… people suck,” Cavallari’s hair colorist, Justin Anderson, commented. “If you didn’t post a pic you’d get shit and you get shit if you do… people need to pick better battles.”
Celebrities such as Lily Aldridge even commented on how good Cavallari looked in her photo by writing, “Yessss mama” along with a few lightning bolt emojis.
Cavallari’s post has since been modified
Though many fans are pretty angry with Kristin Cavallari at the moment, it turns out that she wasn’t even the one behind her social media post.
According to Page Six, the reality star and her team initially sent the photo from an appearance to promote her new collaboration with Daltile.
The captioned was allegedly supposed to say, “24 hours in New York City.”
However, a staffer “took it upon herself to post the image with a modified caption” without Cavallari’s consent and doing so while she was in a fitting.
It has been reported that the staffer has been fired and the post has since been modified back to its originally planned caption.
