With news of this movie joining Disney+, some subscribers took to social media. There, they shared their love for the original animated movie, as well as the live-action adaptation of Belle’s story.
“Just watched The Little Mermaid and now I’m watching Beauty and the Beast, as my boys really don’t enjoy the princess Disney films can’t wait until my daughter is old enough to watch them with me. I love my little men but there’s only so much Star Wars and Marvel I can take,” one Twitter user said of the animated classic.
“Disney Plus is finally gonna add the live action of Beauty and the Beast and I’m so hyped! Honey, that’s one of the best movies ever like animated and live… also like Emma Watson,” another Twitter user wrote.
There’s plenty of other ‘Beauty and the Beast’ content from Disney
Although it took a few months for the live-action Beauty and the Beast to join the platform, Disney already held a number of originals featuring Belle and the Beast. That includes the special titled Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas.
There’s a documentary regarding the musician behind “Be Our Guest” and “Belle” available exclusively on Disney+, titled Howard. There’s also, reportedly, a spinoff series regarding Gaston’s adventures coming to the streaming service.
Production has since paused on a number of Disney+ originals, though, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Both versions of Beauty and the Beast are currently available on Disney’s subscription service. To learn more about Disney+, visit their website.
