Fans Worry About Jinger Duggar’s Safety After Fires Break Out in California
Wildfires are raging across California, and that has some Counting On fans worried about Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo.
The Tick Fire broke out in the Santa Clarita area north of Los Angeles on Thursday, October 24. As of Friday morning, at least 50,000 people had been ordered to evacuate and several homes had been destroyed. Schools in the San Fernando Valley are closed because of concerns about safety and air quality. Gusty Santa Ana winds are encouraging the fire’s spread.
‘Counting On’ fans want to know if the couple is OK
On Thursday, Jeremy shared a photo of his daughter Felicity peering through a window, writing in the caption that “Felicity’s curiosity always makes us smile.” He didn’t mention the fires, but concerned followers on Instagram were quick to inquire if he and Jinger were safe.
“Hope you guys stay safe with these fires going around…..🙏” wrote one person.
“Hope u guys are safe and far from the fires in Castaic,” another commented.
“Felicity is probably just curious about that fire in Santa Clarita that just keeps coming back,” added someone else.
“Hope your home is safe from the Tick Fire!” another chimed in.
Where do Jinger and Jeremy live in Los Angeles?
Jinger and Jeremy relocated to Los Angeles in June, a move chronicled on the current season of Counting On. The couple left their previous home in Laredo, Texas, so that Jeremy could attend the Master’s Seminary, where he is pursuing graduate studies in theology. His school is about 15 miles south of Santa Clarita.
It’s not clear exactly where the Vuolos live, but according to Radar Online, they are spending $4,000 a month to rent a four-bedroom, two-bath house in the San Fernando Valley. Their social media updates frequently have them visiting spots in Burbank and Studio City, so it’s possible they live in that area, which is a bit further south from Santa Clarita.
While the Vuolos are surely hoping to steer well clear of the current fires, this isn’t the first natural disaster they’ve experienced since moving to California. In early July, shortly after settling down in Los Angeles, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake rattled the Golden State. While the quake caused some damage and injuries near the epicenter in Ridgecrest, it didn’t cause too much trouble in the L.A. area. However, a tree in the Vuolos yard didn’t survive the temblor.
“The fig tree was no match for the earthquake,” Jeremy shared in an Instagram post.
Despite the risk of fires and earthquakes, Jinger and Jeremy seem to be enjoying their new life in California. The couple have been hosting family and friends and visiting many popular SoCal destinations like the Los Angeles Zoo, Malibu, the Aquarium of the Pacific, and Griffith Observatory. They’ve also been hitting plenty of area coffee shops and restaurants. It seems like the L.A. lifestyle suits them pretty well.
