‘FBI TV Show’: When Does the Show Return for the Next Season 3 Episode?

We’ve only had three FBI episodes and the show is already on hiatus for the holidays. If you’re looking for the next installment, you’ll have to be patient. Here’s when you can expect a new episode of FBI.

What’s been happening on ‘FBI’ so far

The show has been focusing on Maggie (Missy Peregrym) and OA (Zeeko Zaki). Maggie recently came back from an undercover operation. OA was happy to see her, but little did he know she was hiding a secret. She later confessed she started dating an agent who was on the mission with her.

Maggie’s new boyfriend is Nestor Vertiz (Josh Segarra), and OA doesn’t seem happy about it. Throughout the early season 3 episodes, OA has been making comments about Nestor. He doesn’t trust him, and he seemed to suspect something was going on between Nestor and Maggie before she even told him about their relationship.

When does ‘FBI’ return for season 3, episode 4?

When will FBI be back? As of this writing, no official return date has been given. A rebroadcast will air January 5, 2021, so our guess is the next episode will be after that, on January 12. The rebroadcast will be from season 2, episode 9 (titled “Salvation”). In this episode, Maggie and OA investigate after a teacher goes missing. Before he disappeared, he had an altercation with a student.

What happened last time on ‘FBI’

The last episode of FBI was a nail biter. After the head of a drug cartel, Antonio Vargas, is apprehended, his associates come up with a dangerous plot to set him free. They attach a bomb to Elise Taylor and send her into the FBI headquarters. Thankfully, Isobel gets the code from Antonio and she detonates the bomb just seconds before it goes off.

Where is Ebonée Noel?

One thing you’ve likely noticed is the absence of Ebonée Noel, the actor who played Kristen Chazal. Her departure is briefly explained at the beginning of season 3, episode 1. Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) asks Isobel (Alana De La Garza) about a text he received from Kristen.

“I just got a text from Kristen,” says Jubal. “She’s moving to Dallas, huh?” Isobel confirms the information, saying, “Yeah, she wanted a change of scenery. It’s her decision.” Jubal says, “as long as she’s happy,” and Isobel assures him that she is.

There’s no word on whether Noel initiated the departure or if she was fired from the show. However, she did write about her exit on Instagram:

I like to think that 2020 changed and challenged [Kristin] as a Black woman as much as it changed and challenged me, and that she made a decision to take her talents somewhere she could be appreciated in her entirety. For her brilliance, yes, but also her lived experiences, her flaws, her social/political views, somewhere near family /friends/a bae who would rush to her bedside in case she ends up in the hospital again.

Hopefully, we’ll see Noel again. Perhaps she will reprise her role is Kristen and help the team out with a special mission.

FBI airs Tuesdays on CBS at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
