Will Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy Get Divorced?
Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy – together since 1997 – boast one of the longest Hollywood relationships in history. Huffman and Macy met in the early 1980s at New York City’s Atlantic Theatre Company, according to Woman’s Day. Huffman was in her 20s, and William H. Macy was in his 30s at the time.
Now, despite nearly 23 years together, their relationship may be on the rocks. Huffman continues to face the majority of the backlash surrounding the recent college cheating scandal also involving actress Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli.
Rumors are circling that William H. Macy didn’t know about the scandal (in its entirety)
Following Huffman’s arrest, many have been wondering why William H. Macy was not also placed behind bars. Was he involved? Did he play a part in the college cheating scandal, or did Felicity Huffman go solo on this one?
According to Radar, an insider close to the family reported:
“He [Macy] didn’t know the details, but he knew she [Huffman] was trying to do something. He wasn’t fully aware of what she was planning.”
Has William H. Macy been getting off scot-free on a technicality? If he knew what was going on, why was he not equally prosecuted? Did Felicity Huffman take the fall, or did she lie to Macy regarding precisely what she was doing, as well as the laws they would be violating? With many endorsing the latter, divorce papers may find their way to Huffman as she sits behind bars. Oh wait, she’s out on bail because she’s ridiculously wealthy, which got her into this mess in the first place.
According to the Radar source, the 69-year-old Shameless actor was not on board with the scam and wanted his daughters to take some time off before making any major career decisions.
William H. Macy has been attending the court hearings
William H. Macy has been attending the court hearings; however, if there’s one thing that Hollywood has taught us: it’s easy to fake it until you don’t have to. Many celebrity couples are spotted at award ceremonies and film premieres together right before breaking up.
Once Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan split, people started figuring out when the problems may have begun to arise; however, for the most part, the couple managed to convince the public that everything was status quo until they decided to call it quits.
Presenting a strong and united front may also work in the couple’s favor, as a united household – in a judge’s eyes – is often considered better for the children than a divided one.
Whether William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman are on the rocks has yet to be determined. However, one thing is for sure: this college cheating scandal will shake things up a bit. If lies were circling throughout the planning process, Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy will have to rediscover their trust in one another if they intend to lead a successful marriage following this debacle.
Will their marriage even matter if jail time is coming?
While Huffman and Macy’s marriage is a topic of interest, it may not matter if Felicity Huffman winds up behind bars, as there will be no marriage to reconstruct. However, given the actress’s notoriety and bankroll, it’s unlikely that Felicity Huffman will wind up in jail. Same goes for Lori Loughlin.
While both Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, many skeptics have already taken to the internet to express their lack of faith in the system.
If the FBI wants to regain the trust of the American public, they’re going to have to fight hard to make the right thing happen this time around. Money should not place anyone above the law, but, too often, it does.
