‘Flipping Out’: Jenni Pulos Transforms Into Elaine Benes From ‘Seinfeld’ for Halloween
Jenni Pulos from Flipping Out is embracing her inner (and outer) doppelganger for Halloween. Jeff Lewis‘ former executive assistant has been often noted for her striking resemblance to actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus for years.
So she transformed into one of Louis-Dreyfus’ beloved characters, Elaine Benes from Seinfeld for Halloween. Pulos posted a picture as Benes, wearing her signature printed, long dress, loafers, and bag slung across her body. She’s wearing the same glasses Benes often rocked on the show, plus the photo captured Pulos in one of Benes’ overexcited moves.
This isn’t the first time Pulos shared the startling resemblance to the Emmy award-winning actress. In February she celebrated “doppelganger” week with a side by side comparison with Louis-Dreyfus. “It’s doppelgänger week,” she posted to Instagram.” No further explanation needed. Shoutout to you, multi-talented lady.”
She could never steal her thunder (but looks a lot like Benes)
Along with her lookalike photo, Pulos wrote, “I could never steal your look or thunder… however, I think it’s safe to say, we might have the same Daddy.” Fans were stunned at the similarity. “Omg I thought it was Julia Louis Dreyfus,” one person wrote. Another person referred to Benes’ signature comment and shove too. “Get OUT!!!!”
Even though she completely nailed the costume, Pulos shared that Elaine Benes is her second Halloween costume this season. Only days ago, she shared a sweet photo dressed up with her husband and children too. “Butterbean’s Cafe, how can we help you today? And so the Halloween costume fun begins…,” she wrote.
Pulos looks thrilled to transform into Benes and the clothes can certainly make the costume. In April, Louis-Dreyfus commented about her character’s signature style. “At the time I thought, There is nothing groovier than this look,” she shared with Vogue. “She definitely dictated her own style. She was not somebody who dressed super-sexy. That wasn’t her vibe. I don’t know if that [look] was in or I just thought it was in.”
Louis-Dreyfus also joked about how anyone that might consider reviving Elaine Benes’ style may want to reconsider. “I encourage you who are listening to this little piece right now: Don’t wear these clothes again! Don’t do it. I made the mistake. Learn from my mistakes.”
Jenni Pulos has been mistaken for Julia Louis-Dreyfus
The women look so much alike fans once thought perhaps they were in the presence of the award-winning star. Pulos had a chance encounter with Jerry Seinfeld when both were meeting with people separately at the London hotel and bar, Page Six reports.
Fans kept wondering if perhaps Seinfeld and Louis-Dreyfus were on the outs because they weren’t acknowledging each other even though they were in the same room together.
Pulos saw Seinfeld and wanted to meet him. She approached him and learned he actually knew who she was. “Yeah, I know who you are,” Seinfeld said, Page Six reported. But when Pulos asked to take a picture with Seinfeld he declined. “Sorry, I don’t do that,” he reportedly said.
