Former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher On The Most Rewarding And Challenging Facets of Working With Fiancé Jordan Rodgers

Former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher and her season winner and three-year fiancé, Jordan Rodgers, are back on TV with their new home renovation show, Cash Pad

“We’re basically finding homeowners, we’re partnering up with them, investing our money, and we’re turning their properties into vacation short-term rentals,” Fletcher told Showbiz Cheat Sheet.

How JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers got the idea for ‘Cash Pad’

How did Fletcher and Rodgers get the idea for Cash Pad? Well, in addition to Fletcher having a knack for home renovation projects, the couple noticed a hole in the short-term vacation rental market.

“The reason we kind of took this path is because we love staying at Airbnbs. If we have a choice we stay at them. We love traveling with our dog so being able to take him and have pet-friendly options has been so wonderful. So, yes, we have seen and stayed at places that were great but I also feel like we realized there was a big need for even better Airbnbs,” Fletcher told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “We’ve seen amazing ones but the other side is, we’ve seen a lot that kind of just need some help. So that’s what we wanted to do. We want to get in there, partner with people that have these unconventional or underutilized properties and we wanted to turn them into epic, extraordinary, awesome short-term rentals.”

As for her favorite part of working with Rodgers: Fletcher loves getting to work with her best friend.

“The best part is that I’m working with my best friend, the person I want to spend all my time with. That sounds cheesy but when you are on the road and you’re traveling all over and you’re stressed and you’re working really long, late hours from start to finish–if I’m doing that alone, it would suck. I love what I’m doing but I’d probably get home and be exhausted, it’d be really hard to keep that spark in the relationship during that time. So it’s been really awesome that we get to do something like this together,” she said.

Though Rodgers came into Cash Pad with little to no experience in home renovations, Fletcher says he’s been indispensable from the get-go.

“I totally make a joke about this all the time: he’s my construction therapist. When he came into the picture he had no idea what he was doing but he’s so great at helping me talk through my thoughts, my ideas. It’s just fun; we have so much fun together,” she said.

Fletcher does also acknowledge the challenges that naturally arise when working with a significant other–things can get sticky.

“The hardest part is that you’re in business with your significant other and there’s a lot of things that come with that. It’s awesome that you spend time together 24/7 but you’re together 24/7 dealing with stressful things like money and a business and finances,” said Fletcher.

Fletcher also spoke to us about planning for the long-term with Rodgers. The couple plans on getting married sooner rather than later, and they both want kids. To prepare for the future, they’ve been working with Northwestern Mutual to get their finances in order.

“I think that is such a big stressor in a lot of relationships so if we can kind of be proactive and start that planning now and get on the same page now, I think it’ll lead us down a much more successful path, a much more stress-free path, and that’s definitely where we want to be when we get married,” she said.
