Former ‘Counting On’ Star Derick Dillard Seemingly Slams Disgraced Brother-in-Law Josh Duggar in Shocking New Tweet

Former Counting On star Derick Dillard might be holding some animosity towards his disgraced brother-in-law, Josh Duggar. Taking to Twitter, Dillard shared a quote from Antonin Scalia, a former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, about the struggles of first-born children. He did not mention Duggar by name, but many Counting On fans felt the comment was definitely directed at him.

Derick Dillard slams Duggar on Twitter

Dillard, who is not afraid of stirring the pot on social media, shared a quote about how first-born children are often not perfect. The quote also features a line about big families, which suggests Dillard had the Duggars in mind when he picked it out.

“In a big family, the first child is kind of like the first pancake – if it’s not perfect, that’s ok, there are a lot more coming along,” he shared.

Duggar, of course, is the oldest son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who have a whopping 19 children. Although Dillard did not confirm that he was referring to Duggar, a lot of Counting On fans suspected that was the case.

When a fan noted that the quote is a bad way to view families, another shared how the quote makes perfect sense if it is referring to Duggar.

As Counting On viewers are well aware, Duggar molested five minors when he was underage, and several of his victims were his own sisters. The family covered up the scandal for years, but a report in 2015 revealed the true extent of his crimes.

Following the scandal, TLC opted to cancel 19 Kids and Counting and Duggar has yet to appear on the family’s spin-off, Counting On.

Although Duggar clearly has a sketchy past, he isn’t the only member of the family who has dealt with some controversial behavior.

Inside Dillard’s social media antics

Derick Dillard may be quick to criticize Duggar, but he hasn’t been the best example on Counting On either. A few years ago, Dillard shocked fans by making some disparaging remarks about Jazz Jennings, a transgender star on another TLC show.

TLC did not invite Dillard back on the show after the comments and we have yet to see him return to action.

Derick Dillard has posted plenty of controversial things since then, and his latest comments on Twitter went completely against the family’s strict rules.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are big believers in homeschooling their children and are not keen on the idea of college. While his children are homeschooled as well, Dillard revealed that he is not opposed to the idea of shipping them off to college.

Dillard tied the knot with Jill Duggar in 2014. The couple currently shares two children: Samuel and Israel Dillard.

Derick Dillard opens up about vaccinations

Considering their conservative upbringing, it would not be a huge shocker if the Dillards came out against vaccinating their children. Turns out, the exact opposite happened this month.

Taking to social media, Dillard shared a photo of himself rocking a Band-Aid over his flu shot.

“Got my flu shot for the season! Go out and get yours if you haven’t yet, and try to stay healthy this year,” he commented.

Fans were quick to respond to the post, with many of them in shock that Dillard is okay with vaccinations.

In response, Dillard revealed that they vaccinate all of their kids. He also had to get additional vaccinations when he briefly moved to Asia, so it is safe to say that they fully believe in the science of vaccinations.

Unfortunately, not all of Derick Dillard’s Instagram followers agreed with his take.

‘Counting On’ fans react

A few fans called vaccinations “poison” and assured others that God has given them everything they need to fight diseases.

One person even ridiculously claimed that aborted baby DNA is included in vaccines and blasted Dillard for supporting abortions. This, of course, could not be further from the truth.

While Dillard has a questionable history, we have to admit that it’s great to see him and his wife vaccinating their children. After all, nobody wants to deal with serious diseases like measles or chickenpox when we have preventative medications at our disposal.

Derick Dillard has not, unfortunately, responded to his post about Josh Duggar, so we’ll have to wait and see how that one plays out.

New episodes of Counting On air Tuesday nights on TLC.
