How To Watch Every Single ‘Friends’ Thanksgiving Episode In Theaters

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and by that, we mean it’s nearly time for The Big Eat, aka Thanksgiving. If you’re a fan of the iconic sitcom Friends, then you know that the show has several Thanksgiving episodes throughout its ten seasons. Turkey Day is the perfect time to dive into them.

You can argue with us if you please, but personally or favorite Friends Thanksgiving episode is from Season 5 — “The One With All the Thanksgivings.” The episode is a legit fest for the Friends fandom. There are flashbacks, tons of jokes, and folklore; we finally learn why Chandler hates Thanksgiving. Also, Monica and Joey both get their heads stuck in turkeys. Truly we are delighted just thinking about it.

Still, that’s only one episode out of the many Thanksgiving episodes. While you can watch them all from the comfort of your home via Netflix (do it while you still can) –one movie theater chain is offering a better way to see them this year.

‘Friends’ Thanksgiving episodes are coming to theaters

Fathom Events has decided to delight us all by giving us this super special treat. Fathom will show eight Thanksgiving-themed Friends episodes in movie theaters across the country for two days. Don’t worry, it won’t be like watching fuzzy ’90s TV on massive screens. All of the episodes are going to be remastered in 4K from their original 35mm format.

Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt said in a statement, “Fans showed up in full force for our initial Friends screenings, so we know there is demand for more. We’re excited to put eight classic episodes on the big screen for fans to celebrate with their friends, just in time for Thanksgiving.”

If you want to keep your Friends Thanksgiving viewing cozy and virtually no cost, you can watch the episodes from home. However, this will be the last year you will be able to do so. Starting in 2020 — Friends will no longer be available on Netflix. Instead, you can catch your favorite sitcom on HBO Max. In their goodbye announcement, Netflix said,

The One Where We Have To Say Goodbye. We’re sorry to see Friends go to Warner’s streaming service at the beginning of 2020 (in The US). Thanks for the memories, gang.

HBO Max outbid Netflix getting Friends for $425 million for five years, so we get why the flix has to say goodbye. Still, we’ll always have Thanksgiving.
