From Comedian to Horror Director: How Much is Jordan Peele Worth?

Jordan Peele is an entertainment phenom. The writer/director/producer and comedian began his career in the early 2000s’ starring on the hit comedy sketch series, Mad TV. He would go on to find massive success with his writing partner and former Mad TV castmate Keegan-Michael Key before bringing Hollywood to its knees in 2017 with his directorial debut, Get Out. The groundbreaking horror film was a shocking commentary on racism, liberalism, and white privilege and it was unlike anything seen before in Hollywood.

With Get Out, it seems like the New York native was just getting started. What is Jordan Peele worth today, and what are some of his forthcoming projects?

Jordan Peele has a $12 million net worth

The Oscar winner is certainly not hurting for coins. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Peele is worth $12 million. From his biting comedic style and hilarious impersonations of everyone from Ja Rule, James Brown, Justin Guarini, and Barack Obama the Emmy Award nominee was already making a name for himself on the Mad TV stage. In fact, when he left Mad TV behind, Comedy Central enticed Peele and Key to start Key and Peele.

The series would air 53 episodes over five seasons and would run from 2012 to 2015.

Other TV and movie projects

Along with Key and Peele, Peele had a slew of other roles in TV and film including American Dad!, Keanu, and Netflix’s hilariously raunchy Big Mouth which is an animated comedy about the horrors of puberty. These were just some of the many roles that Peele took on, including various guest starring and voice appearances.

The success of Get Out

Though it was a highly successful movie, Jordan Peele didn’t exactly rack in the dough for Get Out. Instead, the film helped him make a name for himself as a director while garnering new multi-million dollar deals that will surely elevate his net worth in the future. Peele wrote, produced, and directed Get Out on a $4.5 million budget. However, the film was so wildly successful and critically acclaimed that it made $255 million worldwide.

What’s next for Jordan Peele?

Peele has several upcoming projects on his slate. He has been tapped to narrate The Twilight Zone revival. Also, his new movie, Us starring Lupita Nyong’o and Black Panther actor Winston Duke will head to theaters on March 15, 2019, and it sounds just as terrifying as Get Out. The movie’s synopsis reads, “A mother (Nyong’o) and a father (Duke) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elizabeth Moss from The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.”

In addition to these projects, Peele has at least five other horror flicks on his slate, and he will be producing the new HBO horror series, Lovecraft Country which is based on the acclaimed Matt Ruff novel of the same name.

We don’t expect that Peele net worth will remain at $12 million in the coming years, in fact, we expect to see it grow exponentially.
