Gal Gadot Says She Still Hasn’t Fully Processed Paul Walker’s Death

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot worked alongside Paul Walker on three Fast and Furious films, and she says that she still hasn’t fully processed his tragic death.

Gadot was interviewed this week on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast. During an overview of her career, the topic of Paul Walker’s death came up, and Gadot said that because she only really saw him on set, part of her still feels like she’ll see him again if she’s asked back for another sequel.

“I wasn’t in touch with him in between projects, so it was one movie, and then I know that I’m going to see him in the next one, etc. etc,” she said. “And I was living in Israel. So for me, I still don’t realize that he died because if there’s going to be another movie, some part of me thinks that I’m going to see Paul, because that’s just the way that it is for me.”

Gadot went on to say that Walker’s death was “super, super tragic,” and she explained that she adored him.

“I loved Paul and I adored him from the very first moment that I met him because he was so grounded and down to Earth and the cutest, coolest dude,” she said. “And so real as well.”

The future Wonder Woman actress joined the Fast and Furious franchise in the fourth movie, Fast & Furious. She played Gisele Yashar in that film and two subsequent sequels, and this was her first major role in a movie. Gadot’s character is killed off in the sixth installment, and so she did not work on Furious 7, the film that was in production when Paul Walker died in a car accident.

“I wasn’t there with everyone when Paul died, and I don’t know what was the dynamic of the cast back then just because I was not there,” she told The Hollywood Reporter this week.

At the time of Paul Walker’s death, Gal Gadot paid tribute to him on Facebook.

“I’m so sad he’s no longer with us,” she said. “Can’t believe I’m actually writing this.. I’m sending my condolences to his family and his precious daughter Meadow. Rest in peace brother. We will miss you here.”

Lost a dear friend today. So sudden and tragic .. Hard to believe.. Paul was a great man with a big heart and passion…
