If you’re hurridly binge-watching past seasons before the Season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones debuts, or if you’re trying to pay extra close attention to the final season — the clothes and costuming have some of the biggest secrets.
Do the costumes on Game of Thrones foreshadow a character’s fate?
Though we have no idea what’s coming when Game of Thrones premieres or which characters will meet a bloody end –their costumes might have some clues. Game of Thrones designer Michele Clapton told Marie Claire, “I usually get an outline of the season a few months before we start filming, so I have time to think about the storylines of each character. Sometimes [the show-runners] would tell me something that would come the following season so I could steer the looks in the right direction.” Clapton also explained that what a character is wearing when they die is extremely significant. She said their costuming is, “sometimes to mock them, sometimes to celebrate them. Often, it’s to underline what we saw in the character.”
This Game of Thrones actor always ruined his costumes
After eight seasons and nearly a decade working on Game of Thrones –most of the actors have opted to take home their costumes to commemorate their time on the series. However, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who plays Jamie Lannister might not have any decent costumes left to remember GoT with.
Clapton told Marie Claire that, “Jaime Lannister [played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau] used to split his trousers a lot in the first season. He was very patient with us having to mend them.”
Will Jamie Lannister die during Season 8 of Game of Thrones?
Ever since he drove his sword into the back of the Mad King, Jaime has been known as the Kingslayer. Despite his loyalty to his twin sister, Cersei, he has also been an ally to his brother, Tyrion. Jaime has always attempted to do the right thing, and in the seventh season finale of GoT, we watched him walk away from Cersei after she went back on her promise to help Jon and Dany defend the Seven Kingdoms. However, Jamie is headed North right into the direction of the Night King, White Walkers and their Army of the Dead, so he might not make it to Winterfell alive. We’ll have to pay close attention to his trousers when Season 8 premieres to see if Clapton left behind any clues.
Will Jamie kill his sister Cersei during Season 8 of Games of Thrones?
When Season 7 of Game of Thrones ended, Jaime finally saw his twin sister for the diabolical maniac that she is. If the two ever do cross paths again, Jaime might be the one to end both his twin sister’s reign and her life. The Kingslayer could become The Queenslayer.
