Will Daenerys Targaryen Become The Night Queen On ‘Game Of Thrones’?
When the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones premieres on April 14, 2019 –we will finally see how it all ends. For seven seasons, we’ve watched continuous death, destruction, and treason over the fight for the Iron Throne. Now, with the White Walkers and the Army of the Dead marching towards the North, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen headed to Winterfell, and Cersei Lannister poised to attack from the South, we can only imagine how bloody and intense these final six episodes are going to be.
There have been several predictions about how everything will end –however, one of the most intriguing theories we’ve seen so far is that Daenerys Targaryen aka The Mother of Dragons will stand cross over into the darkness to stand with the Night King –becoming the Night Queen.
Game of Thrones fan theory: Daenerys Targaryen will become the Night Queen
Redditor marisaann26 is convinced that in the end, Daenerys Targaryen will voluntarily choose to become the Night Queen. According to marisaann26 this final turn for Dany comes from a vision that she had in Season 2 of Game of Thrones.
Way back in Season 2, Daenerys had a vision where she walked into the destroyed throne room in King’s Landing. If you recall it was also snowing in this vision. As she reaches out to approach the Iron Throne, her dragons began weeping, so she turns away and ends up Beyond the Wall in a tent with Khal Drogo and their son Rhaego. Dany then leaves her family to find her dragons who are chained to a table. marisaann26 said that parts of this vision have already come true. They explained,
Dany going toward the throne but is drawn Beyond the Wall = when, in S7, Dany was going to go attack King’s Landing and take the throne by force, but she was told Jon and company Beyond the Wall need rescuing. Dany hearing the dragon cries = S7, the dragons crying Beyond the Wall after Viserion was killed by the NK [the Night King].
How will Daenerys become the Night Queen in Season 8 of Game of Thrones?
The one part of Dany’s vision that has not yet panned out is her leaving behind her human life to be with her dragons –becoming the Night Queen. At the end of Season 7, the Night King turned Viserion into an ice dragon, so will Rhaegal and Drogon also be killed and turned to ice?
According to marisaann26, the Game of Thrones actors have hinted this is what might happen. They said,
In an interview with the actor that plays the NK, he said that ‘we will learn WHO the Night King is after.’ In an interview with Emilia Clarke (Dany), she talks about the final season and said, ‘It f*cked me up—knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is and that Dany is doing really weird stuff. One way or another, both living dragons will die in battle. Distraught by losing her dragons, Dany will be persuaded to join the Night King to be reunited with her dragons = she gets her ICE THRONE.
