‘Game of Thrones’ Fans Are Rallying Around Emilia Clarke to Win the Emmy
Game of Thrones got the most nominations for a show this year at the Emmys. A lot of those nominations include cast members and their performances including Emilia Clarke.
Fans might not have been happy with what happened to Daenerys Targaryen, but many of them want Clarke to win. Find out why they are supporting her and more.
Multiple ‘Game of Thrones’ stars are nominated
Games of Thrones ended on a controversial note. However, it still set a record for the number of nominations it received this year.
Kit Harington is nominated for outstanding lead actor in a drama series. Alfie Allen, Peter Dinklage, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau are nominated for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series.
The women of the cast also are getting recognized. Emilia Clarke is nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series. Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams are nominated for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series.
The cast will be reunited at the Emmys

It only makes sense to reunite the cast with so many of them being nominees. The good news is that the cast will be taking the stage together to say goodbye to Game of Thrones.
“You have to look at the trade-off,” Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier said according to Galgary Herald. “If you have a host and an opening number, that’s 15-20 minutes that you don’t have to salute the shows.”
Fans are throwing their support behind Emilia Clarke
Fans are throwing their support behind Clarke. One of the fans believe her performance during the battle against the Night King makes her deserve the award. Another one pointed out her speech as the reason she should win.
Clarke talked to Variety about filming that scene. “I’ve had a lot of Dothraki, Valyrian, fake languages to learn and I’ve had a lot of speeches to give, but I put so much pressure on myself with this one,” she said.
“I normally pick up these things quite quickly, but this speech meant so much to me,” Clarke later said. “I was so worried that I was going to f*ck it up. I stayed up so late every night for like two months. I said it to my cooker, I said it to my fridge. I said it to all of Belfast out my window! Well, the window was closed because I didn’t want people to think I was actually barking mad.
Who is Clarke’s competition? The other nominees are Robin Wright for House of Cards, Viola Davis for How To Get Away With Murder, Laura Linney for Ozark, Mandy Moore for This Is Us, Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh for Killing Eve.
Clarke has previously been nominated three times and this her last chance to win for this role. It’s possible this could be her year.
Fans will have to wait and see if she’ll take the statue. The Emmy Awards air on Sunday, Sept. 22 on Fox starting at 8 p.m. EST.
