‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7: The Characters Most Likely to Die
Game of Thrones is back for Season 7 and that means more characters will inevitably die in the war for the Iron Throne and the fight against the White Walkers. The big question is, who won’t survive the final season?
We previously predicted which characters will die next. Some of our predictions were right, while other characters are still kicking. We also saw the demise of many of Cersei Lannister’s enemies at the end of last season, which opens the door for many new possibilities.
So which characters are most likely to lose their life in Season 7 of Game of Thrones and why? Here are our thoughts.
1. Thoros of Myr
It looks like the red priest of the Lord of Light will be taking Sandor “The Hound” Clegane under his wing this season. Clegane isn’t the religious type, but things might change given his mentorship. We’ve already this as Thoros teaches Clegane more about honor and the Lord of Light’s message about the White Walkers.
But TV show mentors often don’t last long because eventually, the student will learn all they need to know. We’re predicting that Thoros of Myr’s days are numbered because of this. We think his death will happen later on in the season when Clegane is a true believer and wants to defend human life because he finally sees the value in it.
2. Euron Greyjoy
Jaime Lannister and Queen Cersei are on the hunt for new allies as their list of enemies grows longer. It looks like they’re turning to Euron Greyjoy, but chances are this new partnership won’t end well.
Cersei will undoubtedly die by the end of Game of Thrones because she’s the best villain on the show. But to draw out that consequence, chances are her potential new husband, Euron Greyjoy, will die first.
3. Jorah Mormont
The unlucky Jorah Mormont returned this season, but he isn’t doing well. His arm is covered in greyscale and he seems to be quarantined. There is a theory that Sam will discover the cure for the skin-hardening disease and save him, but we still don’t predict a happy ending for the former spy.
Even if he’s saved, he’ll probably run back to Daenerys Targaryen in the hope that she’ll be able to love him back. Instead, he’ll probably be pulled into another dangerous mission for her that’ll end badly.
4. The Sand Snakes
These characters are part of the show’s most-hated storyline. On top of that, Cersei has every reason to want them dead since they were involved in the plot to kill her daughter. Their lives will most likely end with Cersei’s revenge, and fans will be relieved to be rid of them.
5. Olenna Tyrell
Most of Olenna Tyrell’s family died at the end of Season 6 at the hands of Cersei Lannister. She made an alliance with Ellaria Sand in Dorne, in order to get revenge.
We still don’t know what their plan will be, but it’s very unlikely that they will be the ones to bring about the demise of Cersei. Instead, the Queen is more likely to finish off the Tyrells by killing the last few standing.
Melisandre or the “Red Woman” has had quite the interesting story arc on the show, but it looks like it has run its course. She tried advising Stannis Baratheon, but he died. She revived Jon Snow, allowing him to continue his journey to the throne. It’s hard to imagine what else there is for her to do.
We also know that Arya Stark is breezing through her list and Melisandre is on it. There is a possibility that the priestess will die and that Arya will be the reason why.
7. The Mountain
The fierce warrior is working to protect Cersei. It’s hard to think of anyone successfully killing him, but it’s long been foreshadowed that his younger brother, Sandor Clegane, might be the one to do it.
Sandor still has the burns on his face from his brother holding it in the fire when they were kids. Sandor will become the good man and warrior his brother could never be, and will outlive him because of that.
